Cricket Match Preview:
Can it be even called an upset if Afghanistan manage to beat Sri Lanka on Tuesday? Bear in mind that Afghanistan did beat them when they last meet in the month of September in Asia Cup. Both these cricket teams will be looking at this fixture with very different mindsets.
While Afghanistan will be looking at this cricket game as a golden opportunity to get a win on the board, Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will be looking at this cricket game as a banana peel, which they must avoid to reduce further embarrassments. Right now, Sri Lanka are ranked ninth on the ICC rankings. It is hugely unbecoming of a proud cricketing nation. Sri Lanka have always been formidable in ICC cricket tournaments but it would be a massive surprise if they can make it to the next round this time.
Of all the Asian cricket teams on the show so far, Afghanistan, have given the best performance. They scored over 200 runs against a good attack of Australia and then picked up three wickets when the norm has been of losing the cricket game easily. They would take some heart from that cricket game and know that they have the players to beat Sri Lanka especially when they are so vulnerable.
Sri Lanka, to their credit, began well against New Zealand on a very helpful pitch for seam bowlers. Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Perera put up a good partnership, where the latter especially looked in great touch. Unfortunately for them, none of the other batsmen stuck around and they were bowled out for just 136 runs. Karunaratne carried his bat and scored a half-century, so Sri Lankan cricketers do not have to look any further to see some much-needed inspiration.
Afghanistan will be tested against Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga but they know that if they can get through him, they will have a genuine shot at posting a match-winning score. The worry for them would be the form of their spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman, who looked off-colour against Australia after having a disappointing season in the IPL. Even countering for that, Sri Lanka will have to play out of their skin to avoid this banana peel of a cricket game.

Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
This cricket game will be played on the same ground, where Sri Lanka played their last cricket game against New Zealand. That pitch had lots of grass on it and batting was tricky first up. Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 136 runs in that game. Our prediction is of the score of around 220 for this game. Conditions are expected to be hot and dry.
Afghanistan will begin this game of cricket as favourites. They have been in a better form than Sri Lanka in the last few months. Hence, our prediction is of an Afghanistan win.
