Cricket Match Preview:
India were always the favourites for this series against Australia. But they were also regarded as the favourites against South Africa and England earlier this year. Tags do not make you win the cricket test matches hence, India must be delighted with their win in the first cricket test match. They have been coming on to these shores for many years but have managed to win only 5 test matches across decades before the Adelaide win. They have won the first test match of the series in Australia for the first time ever.
All the above facts would have rubbed the salt over very wounded Australia. No one rated them before the series but even they would have not thought about losing the test match when Australia had India 4 down for not many on day 1. They were simply beaten by one man, Cheteshwar Pujara, who stood like a rock amidst the storm and bailed India out on the first day with a remarkable hundred.
Australia were also beaten by India’s bowling, which keeps on going from strength to strength. Each one of their bowlers, including Ashwin, maintained the pressure right throughout the game of cricket and at no stage, it felt like Australia were ahead in the game with the bat. Australia would like to be more proactive in the next game at Perth, which will make them feel more at home due to the pace and bounce.
India will have their challenges as well as they find themselves in unknown territory of leading the series. They will have to be careful in the next test as Perth is going to be their toughest challenge on the tour. If they can put a score of around 350 in this test match, it will keep them throughout the game. Australia would like to think otherwise.
Cricket Match Information:
Australia will look to level the series when they take on India in the second cricket test match at Perth. India won the first game of cricket by 31 wins and are leading the series for the first time in Australia. Pitch is expected to be fast and Australia would like to make a comeback in the series.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
India went with four bowlers in the first cricket test match. It will be interesting if they continue with that strategy or go with an extra pacer in the lineup. Our prediction is of same playing eleven as their last game of cricket.
Here is our prediction of India’s playing XI:
- Murali Vijay
- KL Rahul
- Virat Kohli
- Cheteshwar Pujara
- Ajinkya Rahane
- Rohit Sharma
- Rishabh Pant
- Ravichandran Ashwin
- Ishant Sharma
- Mohammad Shami
- Jasprit Bumrah
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Australia had another loss in their kitty in the previous game of cricket. However, they would be proud of the way they fought in the last game. Our prediction is they will go with the same eleven as their last game of cricket.
Here is our prediction of Australia’s playing XI:
- Aaron Finch
- Marcus Harris
- Usman Khwaja
- Shaun Marsh
- Peter Handscomb
- Travis Head
- Tim Paine
- Mitch Starc
- Pat Cummins
- Nathan Lyon
- Josh Hazlewood
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Jasprit Bumrah has begun well in his test career. He has only played a handful of test matches, but he has emerged as India’s most dependable bowler. Our prediction is on a pitch likely to assist the pacers, he will be lethal and produce a good performance.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
It is going to be the first cricket test match ever on this newly built Perth Stadium. It has replaced the iconic WACA as the new cricket stadium in the region. Like its predecessor, it is expected to be fast and likely to assist the pacers. Old WACA pitch used to have cracks built up over a period of 5 days and it will be interesting to see how this pitch holds up. Our prediction is the team who scores 350 runs in first innings will emerge as the winner.
India will emerge as the favourites for the second game of cricket. At the moment, they know how to win games of cricket, which is a significant advantage over Australia, who are stumbling upon one loss to another. Hence, despite the tough challenge, our prediction is of an Indian victory.
