Cricket Match Preview:
The draw in the first cricket test match seems like a distant memory now. It has all gone downhill for the Australian cricket team since then. They lost the second test match despite having Pakistan at 57-5 at one stage. Then in the T20 series, despite having a change of leader and many personnel, they find themselves in a do-or-die situation again.
In the first T20 played at Abu Dhabi, Australia got the toss right and chose to field first. Pakistan were well placed at 105 for 1 after 13.5 overs. Considering the strength in Pakistan’s spin bowling, Australia looked out the game. But suddenly Pakistan collapsed like only they can and from 105-1, they became 133 for 8 in no time. They eventually posted 155 runs on the board and it looked like Australia had made a telling comeback in the game.
But just like the second cricket test match, nothing went right after that for Australia. They got off to the poorest start possible and lost 2 wickets in the first over itself to the spin of Imad Wasim. Those wickets were of skipper Aaron Finch and D’Arcy Short, who would have expected a lot out of himself. From there on it was always going to be an uphill task for Australia but they made a mockery of themselves by being at 22 for 6 at one stage. Australia eventually got all out for 89 and lost the game of cricket by a huge margin of 66 runs.
This debacle makes things more difficult for the captain-coach duo of Aaron Finch and Justin Langer. Australian batting is collapsing in every format now and nobody looks capable enough to arrest this slide. Pakistan will come back hard at them again as they know these conditions like the back of their hand. If Australia do not find a way to tackle spin, it is going to be another loss in their kitty.
Cricket Match Information:
Australia and Pakistan will take on each other in the second T20 International cricket match at Dubai. Pakistan have already got the lead of 1-0 by winning the first game at Abu Dhabi. For Australia, it is a case of do-or-die since if they lose this game, they would lose this series as well.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Pakistan completely dominated the first T20 cricket match. There is no reason why they should change their line up. Change can only be made if Shoaib Malik makes a comeback to the team. Our prediction is of an unchanged side barring an injury.
Here is our prediction of Pakistan’s playing XI:
- Mohammad Hafeez
- Fakhar Zaman
- Babar Azam
- Shoaib Malik/Hussain Talat
- Sarfraz Ahmed
- Asif Ali
- Faheem Ashraf
- Imad Wasim
- Shaheen Afridi
- Shahdab Khan
- Hasan Ali
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Australia had a lot of new players in the first T20 cricket match. However, they failed to perform and lost the game by a big margin. Our prediction is that they will back the same players to produce the goods.
Here is our prediction of Australia’s playing XI:
- Aaron Finch
- D’Arcy Short
- Chris Lynn
- Glenn Maxwell
- BR McDermott
- AT Carey
- Ashton Agar
- Nathan Coulter-Nile
- AJ Tye
- Adam Zampa
- Billy Stanlake
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Aaron Finch has a big responsibility of turning around the fortune of this team. He is being seen as the future captain of Australia and he will not have a bigger challenge than this in front of him. Our prediction is to expect a captain’s knock from Finch.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
In the last T20 cricket match played at Dubai between Ireland and Afghanistan, Ireland could only score 71 runs and Afghanistan chased down the total with sheer ease by 10 wickets. The scoreline suggests that pitch will have something for the bowlers as well as get better for batsmen as the game progresses.
Pakistan will begin this game of cricket as massive favourites. They have got all the bases covered for these conditions and if they can just get rid of collapses they are having in the middle of the innings, they will be extremely tough to beat. Our prediction is to expect another Pakistan victory.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Babar Azam (PAK) – 50+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
Imad Wasim (PAK) -2 or more wickets
Most Sixes (Prediction):

Australia – 2.00
Pakistan – 1.80
