Cricket Match Preview:
Not too long ago, New Zealand Women were making 400 for fun against the Ireland Women cricket team albeit in the 50 over format. But that form has since then eluded them, first during the England series and then here against Australia. It is not that they have played very poorly in this series, it is just that Australian Women have been too good in every sphere of the game.
In the first T20, after being sent to bat first, New Zealand women helped by some useful knocks of Sophie Divine and Katey Martin reached the total of 162. They were struggling at one stage of 78-4 after 11 overs, but Martin took them to a par score. Then during the run chase, they had Australia at 45 for 4 after 6.1 overs and it looked like the total will be enough. Skippers Meg Lanning and Rachael Haynes, however, had other ideas and they cruised to their total with 14 balls remaining.
In the second T20, Australia women won the toss again and sent New Zealand to bat. This time, however, apart from former captain Suzie Bates, nobody played good cricket. Despite Bates’ 77 off 52, New Zealand managed to score only 145 at the end of 20 overs. It was never going to be enough considering the depth in Australian batting line up, who won the game by 6 wickets with 7 balls remaining.
Clearly, while luck has not favored New Zealand at the toss, they have not helped themselves either with their batting. They have just not been able to make big totals and, while bowling, there have not been enough pressure applied on Australians. They will have to improve their cricket if they are going to stop this losing streak.
Australia, on the other hand, have been very dominant and look very hard to beat. Even after struggling at times against a strong New Zealand partnership, they have managed to get back into the game. During the batting, despite being 4 down for not much, they have won the game easily. They look like a complete side and are playing very good cricket now. Only a complacent attitude might pull them down in the third T20.
Cricket Match Information:
New Zealand Women and Australian Women will take on each other in third and final T20 international in Canberra. Australia have already won the series by winning the first two games. New Zealand Women have now lost two back-to-back cricket series against England and Australia. Before this series, New Zealand’s captain Suzie Bates had resigned from the post and Amy Satterthwaite was made the captain.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Australia Women have already won the series and they may decide to rest a few of their players. There is always a temptation though to clean sweep your archrival. Our prediction is they will play the same eleven that played in the last T20.

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Suzie Bates surprised everyone after resigning from New Zealand’s captaincy. She had one failure in the first game and a marvelous 77 off just 52 deliveries in the second game. She would want to impose herself yet again in the final cricket game against the archrivals. Our prediction is to expect a big score from her in this game.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
Cricket pitches in Brisbane and Sydney were wonderful, and it is expected to be the same in this game as well. Conditions are expected to be dry and hot.
Australia have been extremely dominant and clinical in the series. They would want to clean sweep New Zealand here and show how good they are. Our prediction is, barring any complacency, Australia are going to emerge winners again.
