Cricket Match Preview:

A few people gave chance to Bangladesh when they took on South Africa in their first cricket game of World Cup 2019. It was quite unfair considering their recent record, where they were coming off from a tri-series win over Ireland and West Indies in Ireland. But the problem was their track record in conditions outside Bangladesh against top sides. So when they did beat South Africa, it came as a surprise but not as big as it would have been a few years back.

New Zealand, on the other hand, are going about their business as they do in any World Cup. They beat Sri Lanka easily by ten wickets with plenty of overs left in the tank. This came after they had dismissed Sri Lanka for just 136 runs in under 30 overs. New Zealand were brutal in a similar manner in the last World Cup as well, but how they still manage to slip under everyone’s radar is amazing.

It would be interesting how Bangladesh openers face the New Zealand opening bowlers. New Zealand cricket games are typically decided on how opposition teams fare against the likes of Trent Boult and Matt Henry/Tim Southee. If Bangladesh do not give away too many wickets upfront, it will once again give them a distinct advantage. It would also be interesting to see what kind of pitch is dished out for this game. If it’s a flat deck, then it will once again bring the Bangladeshi spinners in the game, whereas on a helpful pitch, New Zealand bowlers are likely to be lethal.

Bangladesh would be quite pleased with the performance of Soumya Sarkar in the last cricket game. After Tamim Iqbal was dismissed early, Sarkar took the attack to South African bowlers and blunted their strategy brilliantly. They would also like Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim to continue leading from the front. Mahmudullah would once again be the key to finishing the innings well for Bangladesh. Man-to-man, this cricket game looks very even and a lot will ride on how the conditions pan out.

Cricket Match Information:

Bangladesh will take on New Zealand in their second World Cup game of 2019 edition. Both teams have had a victorious start to their campaign. While Bangladesh won their first cricket game against South Africa, New Zealand made the short work of Sri Lanka in their first game.

Probable XI (Our Prediction):

Bangladesh are being led by Mashrafe Mortaza in the World Cup. They are coming into this cricket game after a massive win over South Africa. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played the last cricket game.

Here is our prediction of Bangladesh’s playing XI:

  • Tamim Iqbal
  • Soumya Sarkar
  • Shakib Al Hasan
  • Mushfiqur Rahim
  • Mahmudullah
  • Mohammad Mithun
  • Mosaddek Hossain
  • Mehidy Hasan Miraz
  • Mustafizur Rahman
  • Mohammad Saifuddin
  • Mashrafe Mortaza

New Zealand

Probable XI (Our Prediction):

New Zealand are being led by Kane Williamson in the World Cup. They are coming off a one-sided victory against Sri Lanka. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played the last cricket game.

Here is our prediction of New Zealand’s playing XI:

  • Martin Guptill
  • Colin Munro
  • Kane Williamson
  • Ross Taylor
  • Tom Latham
  • Jimmy Neesham
  • Colin de Grandhomme
  • Trent Boult
  • Mitchell Santner
  • Matt Henry

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:

Kane Williamson will be crucial for his side given his great skills against spin. If he can negate the spinners of Bangladesh, then it will be a match-winning knock for New Zealand. Our prediction is of a good knock from him.

Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:

The last cricket game was played here between Bangladesh and South Africa. Bangladesh scored 330 runs after batting first in that cricket game. If it is going to be a similar kind of track, then a lot of runs can be expected. Our prediction is of another score of around 300 runs. Conditions are expected to be hot and dry.

Our Prediction:

New Zealand will begin this cricket game as favourites. They have just been on a different level compared to other teams so far. If it is a flat pitch, then Bangladesh will have a chance otherwise, our prediction is of a New Zealand win.

Top Batsman (Prediction):

Kane Williamson (NZ) – 100+ runs

Top Bowler (Prediction):

Shakib Al Hasan (BAN) – 2 or more wickets

Most Sixes (Prediction):

Jimmy Neesham (NZ)
