Cricket Match Preview:
After a gruelling cricket series against the World Cup host England, Pakistan will be heaving a sigh of relief. Pakistan have also made some changes to their World Cup squad as they included the likes of Asif Ali, Mohammad Aamir and Wahab Riaz. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are coming off a fresh cricket series win in the tri-series involving the likes of West Indies, Ireland and Bangladesh.
Pakistan showed a lot of improvement in their batting department as we saw them posting the total in excess of 300 in consecutive cricket games. Clearly, their opponents extracted the best out of them in one phase of their game. But for all the improvement with the batting, Pakistan struggled with their bowling. It was a rarity for a Pakistani side to struggle so much with the ball.
Pakistan should not be too disheartened though. Their batting has been their weakness for a long time and with a newfound devil-may-care attitude, they have crossed the total of 350 runs twice in two games of cricket. If only they can get their act right while bowling, they will pose a tough challenge for their opponents.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh enjoyed fantastic success in a tri-nation tournament in Ireland. They defeated the toughest opponent in the cricket series, West Indies, thrice including the final and showed that they are no longer a mere underdog who will bring one or two upset on the table. They are now a true force to reckon with and are going to be a handful for their opponents.
The concern for them will be the injury to Shakib Al Hasan, who is going to be so important for their success in the big tournament. Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza is known for extracting the best out of his players and he will be looking to take his side at least one step further than the last time when they reached the quarter-finals of 2015 World Cup. This cricket game brings the opportunity for both Pakistan and Bangladesh to fine-tune their lineup before the tournament begins.
Cricket Match Information:
Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in the warm-up game of cricket before the World Cup. The marquee tournament is about to begin on the 30th of May with the game between England and South Africa.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Bangladesh will be led by Mashrafe Mortaza in the World Cup. They had a disappointing tour of New Zealand in the month of February, where they were whitewashed by New Zealand in the ODI series. They followed that cricket series by winning the tri-series in Ireland. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played the last cricket game.
Here is our prediction of Bangladesh’s playing XI:
- Tamim Iqbal
- Liton Das
- Soumya Sarkar
- Mushfiqur Rahim
- Sabbir Rahman
- Shakib Al Hasan
- Mehidy Hasan Miraz
- Rubel Hossain
- Mustafizur Rahman
- Mashrafe Mortaza
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Pakistan will be led by the experienced Sarfraz Ahmed. Our prediction is of the inclusion of Mohammad Aamir in the playing eleven for this cricket game if he is fit.
Here is our prediction of Pakistan’s playing XI:
- Sarfraz Ahmed
- Babar Azam
- Harris Sohail
- Wahab Riaz
- Imad Wasim
- Hasan Ali
- Mohammad Aamir
- Asif Ali
- Shaheen Shah Afridi
- Fakhar Zaman
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Fakhar Zaman won the champions trophy for Pakistan. He has once again begun well on English shores hence, our prediction is of another good performance from him in this warm-up game.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
The last international T20 cricket match played here was between Australia and England. England won that cricket game by defending the total of 342 runs. Our prediction is of high first innings score in this cricket game especially if Pakistan bat first. Conditions are expected to be dry.
Pakistan will begin the game of cricket as favourites. They have had a great record against Bangladesh over the years. Our prediction is of Pakistan’s win in this warm-up game but, more than a win, getting the combinations right will be the focus for both teams.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Fakhar Zaman (PAK) – 100+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
Mashrafe Mortaza (PAK) – 2 or more wickets
Most Sixes (Prediction):
Asif Ali (PAK)
Bangladesh – 2.65
Pakistan – 1.44
