In the last game played between the two sides, Trinbago absolutely hammered the Warriors by 67 runs. On winning the toss Warriors sent the Knight Riders to bat first and after getting Chris Lynn cheaply just couldn’t manage to get another wicket till the end of 15 overs. By then Colin Munro and Dinesh Ramdin had put on 136 runs on the board and Munro especially took on the bowling and scored 90 runs off just 56 deliveries. Although Knight Riders couldn’t quite finish off in style they still managed to put on 170 runs on the board.

In reply, Guyana never got going and got rolled over in under 18 overs by scoring a paltry 103 runs. Their heroes so far in the tournament Luke Ronchi and Chadwick Walton failed to score on this occasion and that put the rest of the line up under extreme pressure and they couldn’t respond. If Warriors have to get one across the Knight Riders here, they will have to get their batting sorted.

For Knight Riders, it has been a fantastic tournament thus far and they would like to finish strongly to go into the knockouts with momentum on their side. Chris Lynn has left the team and they will have to find a new opener to bat with Colin Munro. They would want their middle order batsmen apart from Dinesh Ramdin to get a good score too before the knockouts. Their bowling too has looked in good shape and although Sunil Narine hasn’t picked up many wickets he has kept things tight for the Knight Riders.

For Guyana Amazon Warriors their bowling looks fine but their batting apart from Luke Ronchi and Walton looks a bit short on confidence and firepower. If those two fire they invariably seem to win but seem to struggle otherwise. They will have to maybe reshuffle the batting order to negate the flaws in their order.

In the final game of the group stage, both these teams would like to put on a good show as there is every chance that they will be meeting one more time in the tournament.

Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on Trinbago Knight Riders in what will be the last group game of this edition of Caribbean Premier League. It will be the second game on the trot for Guyana after playing Jamaica Tallawahs. It presents Warriors with the opportunity to finish in the top two as they can still win 7 games and only Knight Riders are left in the contention to win that many. So far in the tournament TKR have won 6 out of their 8 games whereas Guyana has won 5 out their 8 games. After this game, the top 4 teams will be playing the semi-finals beginning on 12th September.

In the three games played on this ground teams batting second have lost two games while Guyana won the game chasing against the ST Kitts earlier in the tournament. Trinbago Knight Riders beat the Warriors by batting first in the last game so they would like to bat first again to put the scoreboard pressure on Guyana’s batting line up. Warriors, on the other hand, would want to free up their batting line up and play in the manner that they like. So, they too would want to bat first on winning the toss.

This ground hasn’t quite seen the big scores that we have seen in some of the other venues. The highest score so far has been of 185 set by Barbados Tridents. Rest of the scores have been in 140s and 150s. So, we can expect the maximum score of around that with a dry pitch. The game is expected to be rain-free.

Trinbago Knight Riders will be our choice for this game. They just have the better all-around team whereas Guyana seems to be relying mostly on a few individuals to win them the games. However, if Luke Ronchi gets going it will really please the Warriors and make the game very competitive.

Who will Win? – Trinbago Knight Riders
Top Batsman (Runs Scored) – 50+, Luke Ronchi
