Cricket Match Preview:
It is strange to call a team positioned on the last spot of the points table to be on a roll but that is exactly what Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are on right now. They have won four out of their last five cricket games and that is impressive considering they lost the first six cricket games. Delhi Capitals (DC), on the other hand, have been very good this season and are well-placed at the second spot with three more games to go.
Not many teams have chosen to defend the total in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) with almost all the teams preferring to chase the target. However, RCB, having to defend the totals, have done it thrice now and that too on a ground like Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is known to be an extremely difficult ground for bowlers. They will take a lot of heart from these performances and would like to finish the rest of the games of cricket on a high.
DC, on the other hand, are one of those teams, who have preferred the pitches of away games as the pitch in their home ground, Firoz Shah Kotla, just has not been to their style. As a result, they are expected to have a tough time against RCB at home. The good thing for them has been their bowling, which has been very impressive regardless of the conditions. Their batting has also performed well but it has been prone to collapses in almost every cricket game.
The man behind RCB’s resurgence Dale Steyn has left the tournament due to a shoulder injury and he was the one who helped RCB’s bowling to perform to their potential. It will now again be down to Navdeep Saini and Umesh Yadav to help RCB get breakthroughs in the powerplay. The fascinating aspect will be how Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel perform against the opening pair of Ishant Sharma and Kagiso Rabada of Delhi.
Another battle which will be interesting is how Rishabh Pant and company will play the spin of Yuzvendra Chahal. DC virtually now have one leg in the playoff and if they can win this game of cricket they will seal their spot for the first time in a long time.
Cricket Match Information:
DC and RCB will take on each other for the second time in IPL 2019. Currently, DC are placed at the second spot on the points table with seven wins out of 11 cricket games, whereas RCB are placed on the last position with four wins out of 11 cricket games.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
DC are being led by young batsman Shreyas Iyer. They have almost qualified for the playoff with seven wins out of 11 cricket games. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played in their last cricket game.
Here is our prediction of DC’s playing XI:
- Shreyas Iyer
- Rishabh Pant
- Shikhar Dhawan
- Chris Morris
- Prithvi Shaw
- Colin Ingram
- S Rutherford
- Axar Patel
- Ishant Sharma
- Amit Mishra
- Kagiso Rabada
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
RCB are being led by Virat Kohli once again. After the horrendous start, they have now won four out of their last five cricket games. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played the last cricket game except for Moeen Ali, who has now left for national duties.
Here is our prediction of RCB’s playing XI:
- Virat Kohli
- Parthiv Patel
- AB de Villiers
- Marcus Stoinis
- Shimron Hetmyer
- Yuzvendra Chahal
- Akshdeep Nath
- Umesh Yadav
- Pawan Negi
- NA Saini
- Tim Southee
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Prithvi Shaw has had an inconsistent IPL so far. He has scored 99 in one game but failed to make an impact in other games. Our prediction is of a good knock from him.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
The pitch in Delhi has not been to the liking of DC. It has been slow and low and has not suited the style of DC batsmen. Hence, our prediction is of a score of around 160 this time around. Conditions are expected to be hot and dry.
DC will begin this game of cricket as favourites. They just need to win one cricket game to get into the playoff. Hence, with more at stake, DC will begin this game of cricket as favourites.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Shikhar Dhawan (DC) – 50+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
Kagiso Rabada (DC) – 2 or more wickets
Most Sixes (Prediction):
Rishabh Pant (DC)
Delhi Capitals – 1.86
Royal Challengers Bangalore – 1.86
