Cricket Match Preview:

England and Australia will now resume their Ashes rivalry once again when both teams walk out on the field on Thursday. It is going to be played in England on this occasion. As always, the first day of an Ashes test is going to be crucial and one that could well dictate the outcome of an entire cricket series.

Remember Steve Harmison’s wide delivery to Justin Langer in 2006 that set the tone for all the torrid times down under? Or let’s go back one year further. Remember the day one of the first test match played in 2005 cricket World Cup when Australian legend Glenn McGrath got injured and gave an opening to England for their historic win in England?

The point is although it is going to be a five-test match series, often it has been seen that the team, which had the last laugh at end of day 1, has had the better of the opposition. Hence, both Tim Paine and Joe Root will be asking their men to be very focused and give their best on day 1 of the cricket test match.

When the year of 2019 began, England dreamt of achieving the double glory of winning the cricket World Cup and the Ashes. Their half-job is done with an amazing and historic victory of the cricket World Cup and now their eyes are set on the Ashes. The wounds of last Ashes would still be fresh when England were hammered down under.

Australia, on the other hand, have come a long way since last year under Tim Paine. From being a pushover, to losing the cricket series at home against India for the first time, to having an encouraging result at the World Cup under Aaron Finch, life has come full circle for the Aussie team. If they can win the Ashes, and more so in English condition, it will mark a remarkable turnaround from where they were exactly one year ago.

Probable XI (Our Prediction):

England are going to be led by Joe Root in this cricket series. They have not had a great run in the longer format of the cricket game. Our prediction is of the inclusion of either of Jofra Archer or James Anderson in the playing eleven if they are fit.

Here is our prediction of England’s playing XI:

  • Jason Roy
  • RJ Burns
  • Jonny Bairstow
  • Joe Root
  • Ben Stokes
  • Jos Butler
  • Chris Woakes
  • Jofra Archer
  • Stuart Broad
  • MJ Leach
  • Sam Curran

Probable XI (Our Prediction):

Australia are going to be led by Tim Paine in this cricket series. Our prediction is of the inclusion of James Pattinson in the playing eleven.

  • Steve Smith
  • Khawaja
  • Marnus Labuschagne
  • Travis Head

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:

Jason Roy is likely to be given a chance at the top of the order for England. He is expected to be a game-changer for England but it is not going to be easy in this cricket format. Our prediction is of a typical hard-hitting knock from him if England win the toss and bat first.

Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:

The last international ODI cricket game played here was between India and England last year. It was a low-scoring thriller which England won by just 31 runs. Our prediction is of the score of around 325 for seven wickets at the end of day one. Conditions are expected to be good for cricket.

Our Prediction:

England will begin this game of cricket as favourites .They are sky-high on confidence and our prediction is England will win the toss on day one of the first cricket test match and choose to bat first.

Top Batsman (Prediction):
