Hobart Hurricanes

Hobart Hurricanes are going to be led by BR McDermott in the league for the first half of the tournament. Matthew Wade is currently busy with an international commitment and as a result, McDermott has the opportunity to lead the side.

Hobart Hurricanes have so far played four cricket games and won two of those. They lost the last game against Melbourne Stars by just four runs via D/L method. The game was hit by rain and as a result, it was a curtailed game.

Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played the last cricket game.

Here is our prediction of Hobart Hurricanes’ playing XI:

  • BR McDermott
  • DJM Short
  • Riley Meredith
  • James Faulkner
  • M Wright
  • David Miller
  • CP Jewell
  • S Milenko
  • NT Ellis
  • Qais Ahmad
  • CA Rose

Brisbane Heat

Brisbane Heat are being led by Chris Lynn in this tournament. They were led by Lynn last year as well. While the ‘Bash Brothers’ are no longer there with Brendon McCullum having retired, the onus of bashing now lies with Lynn.

He has not disappointed either. In the last cricket game against Sydney Sixers, Lynn arguably played his best knock of the tournament. While batting first, Heat set the mammoth target of 210 runs for Sixers to chase. That total was set due to the knock of 94 off just 35 balls from Chris Lynn. In fact, the score should have been a lot higher than what they ultimately achieved.

Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played the last cricket game.

Here is our prediction of Brisbane Heat’s playing XI:

  • Chris Lynn
  • Max Bryant
  • Ben Cutting
  • Zahir Khan
  • JK Lalor
  • MJ Swepson
  • Ben Laughlin
  • Matt Renshaw
  • Sam Heazlett
  • JJ Peirson
  • Jack Prestwidge

Expert Prediction: HH vs BH

The ninth season of Big Bash League is up and running. Hobart Hurricanes, the group-topper of last year, will take on Brisbane Heat in their next game of cricket.

In this season of the Big Bash League, the tournament will be played over a period of 42 days and a total number of five teams will have the chance to qualify for the finals, instead of the usual four teams.

As per the new format, the teams finishing in the top two will be rewarded for their consistency, unlike in previous seasons. While the winner of the ‘qualifier’ played between the top two teams will reach the final straightaway, the loser will play the ‘challenger’ against the winner of the ‘knockout’ which is going to be played between the side that finished third and winner of the ‘eliminator’.

The Eliminator is a newly introduced knockout feature, which will be played between the teams finishing at number fourth and fifth on the points table. Hence, out of the eight teams, five teams will have a chance to play the final and win the tournament.

Brisbane Heat are expected to provide a tough challenge to Hobart Hurricanes in their home ground. Heat have the batting to disrupt any bowling lineup, but they will have to bowl well to restrict Hobart’s batting as well.

In the last five cricket games between the two sides, Hobart have been really dominant with four consecutive wins in the last four games, whereas Brisbane have only managed to win one game.

Our prediction is of a victory for Brisbane Heat in this game of cricket.

Toss prediction? – The team winning the toss will look to bowl first as the T20 game is hugely a chase-friendly format. Hence, irrespective of the conditions, our prediction is that the team winning the toss would like to bowl first.
