India have begun their New Zealand tour on a high. They have won the series by winning four constitutive T20 international matches out of five. This is India’s first ever T20 series win in New Zealand.
In this series, India have shown that they are not relying only on Virat Kohli, as players like KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Manish Pandey are also contributing to the success of their team. They made some changes to their playing eleven in the last game. They brought in Sanju Samson in place of Rohit Sharma, Washington Sundar in place of Ravindra Jadeja and Navdeep Saini in place of Mohammad Shami.
Our prediction is of the inclusion of Mohammad Shami in place of Jasprit Bumrah for the last game. Kuldeep Yadav may also get a look in place of Yuzvendra Chahal.
Here is our prediction of India’s playing XI:
- KL Rahul
- SV Samson
- Shivam Dube
- Virat Kohli
- SS Iyer
- Shardul Thakur
- Washington Sundar
- Manish Pandey
- Mohammad Shami
- Kuldeep Yadav
- Navdeep Saini
New Zealand have not been good in the T20 cricket series. They have lost four games of cricket in a row and have now lost the series at home.
New Zealand rested Kane Williamson and brought Daryl Mitchell’s as his replacement in the last cricket game. With Kane not available, Tim Southee led the side. They also brought Tom Bruce in place of all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme.
With four back-to-back losses, changes are bound to happen and hence, our prediction is of a couple of replacements in their eleven for the next game.
Here is our prediction of New Zealand’s playing XI:
- MJ Guptill
- Colin Munro
- TL Seifert
- TC Bruce
- LRPL Taylor
- Daryl Mitchell
- Mitch Santner
- Tim Southee
- IS Sodhi
- Hamish Bennett
- SC Kuggeleijn
Expert Prediction: IND vs NZ
India continued their good form in this cricket series as they took the lead of 4-0 margin in the five-match T20 series. They have won their first ever international T20 series in New Zealand and are on their way of clean sweeping the host in their own backyard.
There have been two back-to-back super over cricket games in this series. New Zealand have blown away the chances of being 2-2 in this series as they let the game slip twice after being in a very comfortable position.
India will not be complaining though, they are getting great practice of playing super overs and tightly contested games which will keep them in good stead for the upcoming T20 cricket World Cup. Their bowlers have managed to defend the under 10 score in the final over twice. While Mohammad Shami did the job in the third T20, Shardul Thakur did one better by defending just seven runs in the final over.
New Zealand would have been really frustrated with the fact that twice their most experienced player Ross Taylor failed to finish the game after being set. They may have to look into their middle order now keeping in mind the World Cup.
For now, looking at the current form, there is no stopping India and our prediction is of a 5-0 win for India.
