India are being led by Virat Kohli in this ODI cricket series. They won the T20 series by 5-0 but have lost the ODI cricket series against New Zealand.
India lost the first ODI after putting up a huge score of 347 runs. In that game, the bowling lost them the match that they should have ideally defended. In the next cricket game, they could not defend the score of 274 runs as none of the top order batsmen managed to bat through.
Our prediction is of a couple of changes to their playing eleven as India have already lost the series and would like to try out new players.
Here is our prediction of India’s playing XI:
- KL Rahul
- Prithvi Shaw
- Virat Kohli
- SS Iyer
- Manish Pandey
- Shivam Dube
- Mohammad Shami
- Kuldeep Yadav
- Mayank Agarwal
- Navdeep Saini
- Shivam Dube
New Zealand’s replacement skipper, Tom Latham, has done a wonderful job and won the cricket series for his side. The regular skipper, Kane Williamson, is expected to be back for the third and final ODI.
New Zealand have been wonderful in the ODI series against a strong side like India. They have managed to score runs against the full-strength Indian bowling and managed to restrict a reasonable Indian batting lineup. Their side has been hit with injuries, but they have managed to bring their top-class game to the fore.
Our prediction is of a couple of changes to their playing eleven for this cricket game.
Here is our prediction of New Zealand’s playing XI:
- MJ Guptill
- Henry Nicholls
- Tom Latham
- Kane Williamson
- James Neesham
- LRPL Taylor
- Colin de Grandhomme
- Mitch Santner
- IS Sodhi
- Hamish Bennett
- Scott Kuggeleijn
Expert Prediction: IND vs NZ
India lost their first ODI cricket series in a while as New Zealand took the unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series. India have been thoroughly outplayed and outsmarted by a determined New Zealand side hurting from 5-0 drubbing in the T20 cricket series.
Skipper Virat Kohli has not been his usual self with the bat on the entire tour and as a result, the team have found themselves wanting in crucial stages of the game. While the likes of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul have been good, Kedar Jadhav and new openers, Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal, have disappointed.
On the bowling front, somebody like Jasprit Bumrah has not been at his best and New Zealand batsmen have found a way of tackling him. Indian spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, have not been at their best as well in demanding conditions and that has put a lot of pressure on the team.
New Zealand, on the other hand, would be extremely pleased with their performances this series. Everybody has been at their best including the most experienced of them all, Ross Taylor, as well as the youngster Kyle Jamieson. Now with the return of their regular skipper, Kane Williamson, they would be further strengthened.
2-1 looks a lot better than 3-0 and the Indian skipper would be telling exactly that to his players. They are a good side despite not having Rohit Sharma in the team and they will have to prove that in the third ODI cricket game.
However, looking at the form and self-belief of both sides, our prediction is of New Zealand’s victory in the third and final game as well.
