Cricket Match Preview:

The three-match T20 cricket series between India and South Africa will begin at the picturesque location of Dharmasala stadium. Both teams will be looking to make the most of these cricket games considering the cricket World Cup, which is going to be played next year. Both teams are undergoing a phase of change especially in the T20 format and it remains to be seen how the teams fare.

From South Africa’s point of view, there has been a leadership change after the World Cup. Coach Otis Gibson has been sacked, whereas skipper Faf du Plessis has been rested and they will be led by Quinton de Kock in this cricket series. Quinton will be leading a young side but young is the way to go in T20s. They have selected a 14-member squad and the onus will be on skipper Quinton de Kock, David Miller and Kagiso Rabada to lend their experience to the other members of the side.

On the other hand, India have not had a lot of personnel changes since the World Cup but they are slowly and surely changing the way they are going to approach the T20 internationals now. They have largely retained the same squad that won them the series in West Indies barring the inclusion of Hardik Pandya, who was rested for the tour. The likes of Washington Sundar, Rahul Chahar, Deepak Chahar and Navdeep Saini will get further opportunities to showcase their skills at International level.

From India’s point of view, it remains to be seen whether Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma will be opening the innings for them or whether they will be going with the option of KL Rahul at the top. Rahul has been dropped from India’s test team and as a result, he has only limited opportunities to get into the scheme of the things in a longer format.

South Africa have not had a good time this year and they would like to put that behind them. The likes of Kagiso Rabada and David Miller, who had an average cricket World Cup, would like to lead the way for their team now. Under a new skipper and with a young team, South Africa would like to dream again.

Probable XI (Our Prediction):

Here is our prediction of South Africa’s playing XI:

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:

Navdeep Saini will get further opportunities to show his raw pace. He has been retained in the squad due to impressive showings in West Indies. With India looking for their third pacer apart from Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar for the T20 World Cup, it is going to be an exciting opportunity for Saini.

Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:

The last international T20 cricket game played here was between New Zealand and Australia in the 2016 T20 World Cup. New Zealand won that cricket game by just eight runs after scoring 142 runs batting first. Our prediction is of the score of around 160 in this cricket game. Conditions are expected to be good for cricket.

Our Prediction:

India will begin this game of cricket as favourites. They will be playing in their home conditions and with South Africa relying on the inexperienced side in these conditions, our prediction is of Indian win.

Top Batsman (Prediction):

Virat Kohli (IND) – 50+ runs

Top Bowler (Prediction):

Washington Sundar (IND) – 2 or more wickets

Most Sixes (Prediction):

Virat Kohli (IND)
