Cricket Match Preview:
The Indian team have largely been on a cruise mode on this entire West Indies tour of India. They were ruthless in the test series, where they decimated Windies by 2-0. They were challenged a bit in the first three cricket ODI games but came back strongly to win the series by 3-1 in the end. Now in the T20 series, they have already won the series by winning the first two games of cricket and have their eyes set on a clean sweep.
It was not supposed to be so easy though, after all, West Indies are the world champions and will be defending the title in the 2020 World T20. However, they have just been their shadow self. None of their batsmen has been able to play as freely as they are known for. They have been badly exposed against the spin bowling and been found out against the pace bowling of India.
India, on the other hand, have gone from strength to strength, thanks to their inform players. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav have just not taken their foot off the peddle but continued to perform game after game. Keeping the Australian tour in mind, they have decided to rest Bumrah, Kuldeep and Umesh Yadav from the third T20 cricket game.
West Indies, on the other hand, do not have the services of their regular openers like Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis and as a result, the middle order batsmen like Shai Hope had to do the job of an opener. Shimron Hetmyer’s indifferent form has not helped as well, whereas the likes of Keiron Pollard and Darren Bravo have just not been able to come to terms with the conditions.
India might just give the opportunity to those who have not managed to get the game so far. The likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shahbaz Nadeem, Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar should hope to get included in the final game. While West Indies may give the opportunity to other players as well.
Cricket Match Information:
The Indian cricket team have its sight set on the clean sweep as they take on World champions West Indies in the third and final T20 cricket game of the series and the tour. This has largely been a dismal tour for West Indies where they have lost all but two games. They managed to win one game in the ODI series and one ended up as a tie.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
India will definitely be giving opportunities to some new faces in the third T20 game of cricket. With Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah being rested for the third game, Khaleel Ahmed and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar are likely to lead the pace attack.
Here is our prediction of India’s playing XI:
- Rohit Sharma
- Shikhar Dhawan
- KL Rahul
- Manish Pandey
- Rishabh Pant
- Dinesh Karthik
- Krunal Pandya
- Khaleel Ahmed
- Washington Sundar
- Bhuvaneshwar Kumar
- Yuzvendra Chahal
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
West Indies have already lost the T20 cricket series. They might just give opportunities to untested players in the lineup. Players like Ashley Nurse and SE Rutherford may get a look in.
Here is our prediction of West Indies’s playing XI:
- Shai Hope
- Darren Bravo
- SO Hetmyer
- Keiron Pollard
- Rovman Powell
- FA Allen
- Craig Brathwaite
- O Thomas
- KA Paul
- Ashley Nurse
- SE Rutherford
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Shimron Hetmyer has been quiet in this series. Jasprit Bumrah, his chief destructor, has been rested from the final T20 and that might just free Hetmyer to play his game. Our prediction is of a fine knock from him in the final cricket T20 game.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
Chepauk could only host CSK for just one IPL game this year before the controversy broke out. There has been only one T20 international cricket game played here back in 2012 when India took on New Zealand. In that game, New Zealand managed to defend the total of 167 by just one run. Chepauk in IPL has been witness to some of the massive scores and hence, our prediction is of a high scoring cricket game.
India, despite resting many of their first-choice players, will begin as a favourite for this game. Our prediction is of another Indian win and a clean sweep for them against the world champions West Indies.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Shimron Hetmyer (WI) – 50+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
Yuzvendra Chahal (IND) – 3 or more wickets
Most Sixes (Prediction):
Shimron Hetmyer (IND)
India – 1.28
West Indies – 3.15
