Cricket Match Preview:

Ireland and West Indies will take on each other for the second time in this tri-nation cricket series. West Indies easily beat Ireland in their first encounter by 196 runs in the first cricket game. Ireland have so far played one cricket game and lost it, whereas West Indies have played two cricket games, out of which they have lost one cricket game and lost the other game.

John Campbell and Shai Hope recorded a historic partnership for the opening wicket of 365 runs. Both batsmen scored mammoth hundreds in that cricket with John Campbell scoring 179 runs off just 137 balls and Shai Hope scoring 170 runs off 152 balls. West Indies’ innings propelled by these two knocks reached the score of 381 runs after 50 overs.

In reply, Ireland never looked in the cricket game and, except Kevin O’Brien who scored 68 runs off 77 balls, none of the other batsmen looked comfortable and Ireland were bowled out for the score of 185 runs. It was a big loss for Ireland in their home conditions and they would have not liked the fact that they were beaten so easily by a second-string West Indies side.

Ireland and West Indies, along with a few other teams, had to undergo an intense qualifying tournament in 2018. From all the teams playing in the tournament, only West Indies and Afghanistan qualified for the World Cup, leading to heartbreak for the likes of Ireland, Zimbabwe and Scotland.

In their last cricket series, Ireland played a drawn series against Afghanistan in the month of March in Dehra Dun. It was a good series for a talented side, who has just slipped under the radar after the initial highs of the World Cup in 2011. West Indies, on the other hand, are coming off a drawn ODI cricket series against the best team in the world, England. It was a no mean achievement for a side, who has been under scrutiny for almost two decades now.

Cricket Match Information:

Ireland will take on West Indies in their second cricket game against each other in the tri-nation series. The third team to take part in this series is Bangladesh, who have already won their cricket game against West Indies. West Indies and Bangladesh have qualified for the World Cup, whereas Ireland have missed out to play in the marquee tournament.

Probable XI (Our Prediction):

Ireland will be led by the experienced William Porterfield. They lost their last cricket game easily against West Indies. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played the last cricket series.

Here is our prediction of Ireland’s playing XI:

  • William Porterfield
  • Paul Stirling
  • A Bilbirnie
  • LJ Tucker
  • Kevin O’Brien
  • GH Dockrell
  • MR Adair
  • AR Mcbrine
  • GC Wilson
  • JB Little
  • TJ Murtagh

West Indies

Probable XI (Our Prediction):

West Indies played admirably on this entire cricket tour of England of West Indies. They will now look to affirm their status as a dangerous ODI cricket side in the world. Our prediction is of a similar side that played their final ODI against Bangladesh.

Here is our prediction of West Indies’ playing XI:

  • JD Campbell
  • Roston Chase
  • Shai Hope
  • JL Carter
  • Darren Bravo
  • Sheldon Cottrell
  • Ashley Nurse
  • KAJ Roach
  • SW Ambris
  • Shanon Gabriel
  • Jason Holder

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:

Paul Stirling was dismissed on duck against West Indies in their last cricket game. He is important for Ireland’s cause in this tournament. Our prediction is of a good performance from him yet again.

Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:

The last international ODI cricket game was played here between Ireland and England recently. England won that cricket game by four wickets against host Ireland. It was a low-scoring cricket game on a slightly moving pitch. Our prediction is of the score of around 300 once again especially if West Indies bat first. Conditions are expected to be cold and windy.

Our Prediction:

West Indies will begin the game of cricket as favourites again. They beat Ireland easily in their last cricket game. Our prediction is of West Indies’ victory in this cricket game.

Top Batsman (Prediction):

Shai Hope (WI) – 50+ runs

Top Bowler (Prediction):

Kemar Roach (WI) – 2 or more wickets
