Cricket Match Preview:
The first edition of Afghanistan Premier League is up and running at Sharjah. So far, each of the 5 teams has played their games. APL is another addition to the rapidly rising list of the T20 leagues around the world. Afghanistan, however, wants to make the most of it. They do not get to play too many International games and, for the development of their own players, APL is the perfect opportunity.
The sixth cricket match of Afghanistan Premier League will be played between Kabul and Nangarhar Leopards. So far in the tournament, Kabul have played two games and, while they won the first game in style against the Paktia Panthers, they could not quite play their best cricket against Balkh Legends. Leopards as well have lost one and won one in the tournament against the Paktia Panthers and Kandahar Knights respectively.
Led by Superstar Rashid Khan, Kabul began the tournament in an unbelievable manner. Against the Paktia Panthers on choosing to field first, they were absolutely hammered by the skipper, Mohammad Shahzad, who continued his great form from India’s game in Asia Cup. Every bowler of Kabul was hammered, apart from Rashid Khan. In order to win the game, Kabul had to chase the total of 218.
In reply, despite the useful contributions from everyone at one stage, Kabul required almost 50 runs in 4 overs with just 3 wickets remaining. In the end, Laurie Evans not out 79 helped Kabul get to their total and finish off an amazing chase in the first cricket game of the tournament.
In their second game as well, Laurie Evans top-scored for Kabul with his 64 off 47 deliveries. This time, he was supported by skipper Rashid Khan with his 56 not out off 27 deliveries. Despite those two knocks, however, Kabul could reach only 176 runs, which was just a par score. In reply, Balkh Legends, led by Mohammad Nabi, easily chased down the total with 7 balls remaining and 8 wickets in hand.
Leopards, just like Kabul, won their first cricket game, but in a more conventional manner – by defeating Kandahar Knights by 6 wickets with 9 balls remaining. In their second game, however, they could not continue that form and, despite the skipper’s wonderful knock of 71 off just 39 deliveries, they could not chase down the total of 185 against the Paktia Panthers and fell short by 22 runs.
In a cricket tournament tailor-made for Afghanistan players, Ben Cutting has been made the captain of Nangarhar Leopards and he has to keep performing with both bat and ball to keep his captaincy. Rashid Khan, after proving himself as a leading spinner in the world, would also like to establish his credentials as captain.

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Rashid Khan has been successful in every league he has appeared for. In APL so far though he hasn’t quite been able to strike as bowler. Perhaps it is the case of Afghanistan players being used to him. However we would still back the champion bowler and our prediction is to expect a great show from him in the next cricket game.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
Pitches in Sharjah have been very good to bat on and that trend should continue in this game as well. Our prediction is to expect a high scoring cricket game.
Kabul and Leopards have both won one cricket game each but Kabul has looked a slightly better side and has had a better performance. Hence, our prediction is to expect a win for Kabul in this game.
