At the moment nothing seems to be clicking for Shivamogga. While in their last two games they have scored exactly the same score of 146 while batting and couldn’t defend the total, in their first game they couldn’t chase down the total set down by Hubli Tigers of 160 and fell short by 25 runs. Clearly, there is a problem and they will have to address it as soon as possible.

Bijapur Bulls, on the other hand, have had a share of mixed fortune so far in the tournament. While in their first game they couldn’t defend their under-par score of 128 against Hubli Tigers and lost by 4 wickets. In their second game, it was all about one player, KN Bharath. He single-handedly helped the Bulls to overhaul the chase of 154 runs against the Bellary Tuskers. In the end, he was not out at the score of 72 off just 46 deliveries. Bijapur Bulls had begun well thanks to their openers SA Bhavane and skipper Bharath Chipli but soon they fell behind the required run rate and it looked like the game would slip from their hand. But thanks to some luck and Bharath they came on top. Bulls have also had two washed out games that helped them accumulate 2 invaluable points.

The time Is running out for Shivamogga and their captain Aniruddha Joshi as Shivamogga is right at the bottom of the table right now with 3 out 3 losses. If they can somehow find the magic formula and get 3 wins out of 3 only then they can entertain the thought of reaching the knockouts. To achieve this they will need their known faces like Abhimanyu Mithun to give the killer blow and pick up early wickets in all their games. Their batting has also been an issue and they would like to address it now than later.

For Bijapur the equation is straightforward. If they can win their remaining 3 games they will safely reach the knockouts. Their skipper Bharath Chipli would be pleased with where they are but they wouldn’t want to rely too much on one individual to win them the games. They would like some other players to step up and get in a form which will help them to have more than handful players in form come the knockouts.

Karnataka Premier League has now reached its business end. All the teams are now looking to accumulate as many victories as possible to seal the position in the knockouts. Teams that are sitting pretty at the top will now look to consolidate their position further while those at the bottom will look to treat each game as do or die. Unfortunately for Shivamogga they find themselves now in the do or die situation. They would look to play each of their remaining three games as a virtual knockout. Bijapur, on the other hand, are in good position right now despite two of their games being abandoned.

Absolutely nothing has worked for Shivamogga be it batting first or batting second. However, in their last two games, they have batted first and couldn’t defend their total. Maybe shaking things up at the toss can change their fortune. As a result, they may choose to bat second. For Bijapur too batting second worked in their last game hence, they too would like to chase the total.

Pitches have been good in Mysuru and it would hopefully stay the same. The weather might still be around, and some rain is expected. That could lead to a shortened game and that always tends to support the teams batting second.

We are going with Bijapur Bulls as our winner for this game. They would be high on confidence especially after their win in the last game and the manner in which they won. On the other hand, Shivamogga is really struggling and would be really low on confidence. Hence, the Bulls seem like a good option to go for.

Who will Win? – Bijapur Bulls
Top Batsman (Runs Scored) – 50+, Bharath Chipli
Top Bowler (Wickets taken) – 2, KC Caraippa
Most Sixes – Bharath Chipli
