Cricket Match Preview:
Bangladesh will look to end their torrid times in New Zealand when the first cricket test match begins on Thursday at Hamilton. This is their least favourite format but if they want to be in a good frame of mind come the World Cup, they will have to start winning games of cricket. New Zealand, on the other hand, seem to have got their mojo back after losing the ODI cricket series at home against India.
New Zealand, after winning the closely fought T20 cricket series against India, won all the three ODIs played against Bangladesh. Even in the longer format of the cricket game, they last played against Sri Lanka and won the series quite easily, and in a series before that against Pakistan in UAE, they defeated them by 2-1. It is going to be a tough challenge for Bangladesh against a very good side in their home conditions.
Bangladesh, to their credit, won their last test series against West Indies at home as well. In that cricket series, they played on typical turning pitches and never allowed West Indies to get on top of them. However, these pitches in New Zealand could not be more different than what they play at home. As a result, their batsmen will have to play with sense of responsibility. None of their batsmen showed the application in ODI cricket series.
New Zealand batsmen, on the other hand, are on cruise control mode right now. All of their batsmen looked in great form in recent times. Ross Taylor, Kane Williamson and Henry Nicholls are going to be a handful for Bangladeshi bowlers. The likes of Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls scored heavily in the cricket series against Sri Lanka and are going to pose a big threat to Bangladesh. For Bangladesh, the onus of run-scoring will be on Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan.
Cricket Match Information:
After beating Bangladesh in the ODI cricket series, New Zealand will now look to extend their dominance in the longer format of the cricket game. Both teams are scheduled to play three test matches against each other. The first cricket test match will be played at Hamilton.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
New Zealand have been absolutely brilliant in the cricket series against Bangladesh so far. Our prediction is they will be playing the same playing eleven that played their last cricket test match against Sri Lanka.

- Kane Williamson
- Ross Taylor

- Tom Latham
- BJ Watling

Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Bangladesh have been very disappointing so far on this cricket tour of New Zealand. They will have to play extremely well to stay competitive in this cricket series. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played in their last cricket test against West Indies.
Here is our prediction of Bangladesh’s playing XI:
- Shadman Islam
- Tamim Iqbal
- Shakib Al Hasan
- Mushfiqur Rahim
- Mominul Haque
- Mohammad Mithun
- Liton Das
- Mehidy Hasan Miraz

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Tom Latham has been in an unbelievable form in the longer format of the cricket game for New Zealand. He has posted some huge scores in test matches against Sri Lanka. Our prediction is of a huge score in this cricket series from him.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
The last international cricket Test match played here was between New Zealand and West Indies in 2017. That cricket game was a low-scoring encounter with the highest score being 371 runs posted by New Zealand. The pitch had something in it for the pacers. Our prediction is of a high-scoring cricket game between the two sides with the scores of around 500 by the side batting first. Conditions are expected to be dry.
New Zealand will begin this game of cricket as favourites. They won the ODI cricket series against Bangladesh and will be looking to finish the tour with Test series win as well. Hence, our prediction is of New Zealand’s victory in this cricket game.
