New Zealand are being led by fast bowler, Tim Southee, in this cricket series. Due to the injury to their regular captain, Kane Williamson, Southee has been handed over the responsibility of leading the side.
As predicted before the last cricket game, New Zealand took the lead against England at Nelson. It did not look like that during the majority of England’s run chase but their inexperience later in the innings showed and New Zealand held their nerves well to win the game of cricket.
New Zealand made a move to bring in quick bowler, Blair Tickner, in the previous game of cricket. He performed well to pick up two wickets for 25 runs. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven for New Zealand that played at Nelson.
Here is our prediction of New Zealand’s playing XI:
- Tim Southee
- Colin Munro
- Martin Guptill
- Tom Seifert
- Ross Taylor
- Colin de Grandhomme
- James Neesham
- Mitch Santner
- Lockie Ferguson
- Ish Sodhi
- Blair Tickener
England are being led by Eoin Morgan in this cricket series. There were some speculations regarding Morgan’s future post the World Cup win, but selectors seem to have made up their mind at least till the World T20 tournament next year.
After winning the first cricket game and surprising the host, England have now lost two back-to-back games. For England, the game at Nelson was for taking especially at 15 overs mark during their run chase when they needed just 42 runs off last 5 overs and had many wickets in hand.
England decided to give the opportunity to young Tom Banton at the top of the order. Banton impressed briefly before trying to be too adventurous and fell for the score of 18 runs. James Vince once again played well and scored 49 runs but could not take the side home.
Our prediction is that England will bring back Chris Jordan in this game of cricket in place of Saqib Mahmood.
Here is our prediction of England’s playing XI:
- Eoin Morgan
- David Malan
- Tom Banton
- James Vince
- Sam Billing
- Lewis Gregory
- Sam Curran
- Tom Curran
- Pat Brown
- Chris Jordan
- Adil Rashid
Expert Prediction: NZ vs ENG
England will be thinking about the game at Nelson as the one that got away. They were absolutely cruising at one stage and New Zealand were simply going through the motions. With just 42 needed off 30 deliveries, skipper Eoin Morgan played one shot too many off Mitch Santner and lost his wicket.
England never quite recovered after that and their inexperience showed as they lost one wicket after another and lost the game by 14 runs. But well before all that, Colin de Grandhomme played a gem of a knock for New Zealand, which propelled them to the total of 180 runs. Martin Guptill also chipped in with a score of 33 runs off just 17 balls and showed signs of getting back to his best.
Our prediction guru expects England to make a comeback in the next game of cricket. Despite a lot of inexperienced players in their lineup, they have pushed New Zealand in every game. Hence, if New Zealand want to win the series in the next game itself, they will have to work hard yet again.
Toss prediction? – So far in all three games of cricket, England have won the toss and sent New Zealand to bat first. It has worked in the first game, but they have lost two as well. Hence, with inexperienced players in their lineup, they may choose to bat first on winning the toss. However, if New Zealand win the toss, they will definitely look to bat second.
