New Zealand are going to be led by Kane Williamson in this cricket series. Williamson is back after being out for a couple of months due to injury.
New Zealand had a great first game where they emerged victorious by an innings and 65 runs. It was a comprehensive performance from a side that has been doing very well at home. This win was brought about by two extremely underrated but backbone of New Zealand team, BJ Watling and Neil Wagner. While Watling amassed his highest score of test format by scoring 205 runs, Wagner picked up 5 wickets in the second innings to end the England’s resistance.
There have been couple of injury concerns in New Zealand’s camp, Trent Boult has been ruled out of this cricket game and Colin de Grandhomme will also be not available for this game. Our prediction is of the inclusion of Matt Henry and Daryl Mitchell in the playing eleven for New Zealand.
Here is our prediction of New Zealand’s playing XI:
- Tim Southee
- Kane Williamson
- Matt Henry
- Neil Wagner
- Tom Latham
- Jeet Raval
- Henry Nicholls
- BJ Watling
- Ross Taylor
- Daryl Mitchell
- Mitch Santner
England are going to be led by Joe Root in this cricket series. There has been growing murmur about the adverse effect of captaincy on his batting but for now selectors have chosen to trust him with the job.
England lost the last game and it was another addition to their list of overseas loss. England under Joe Root have been struggling in test format and time is running out for Root as the leader of the team. There were some good performances in last test, notably from Joe Denly and Ben Stokes with the bat, but with the ball, England lacked penetration once again.
Despite the loss in their last game, our prediction is that England will be going in with the same playing eleven.
Here is our prediction of England’s playing XI:
- Joe Root
- Ben Stokes
- Jofra Archer
- Jos Butler
- Dom Sibley
- Rory Burns
- Joe Denly
- Ollie Pope
- Stuart Broad
- Sam Curran
- Jack Leach
Expert Prediction: NZ vs ENG
New Zealand finally got better of an English side this year. After some frustrating results in the 50-over World Cup final and T20 cricket series back home, New Zealand won the first test match easily against England. That it was achieved on a benign pitch with little help for bowlers across 5 days, would have pleased them a great deal.
England on the other hand would be hoping for improvement. Their batting looked good in patches but failed to bat longer period of time especially compared to how the likes of BJ Watling and Mitch Santner batted. Their bowling which had some big names like Stuart Broad and Jofra Archer failed to take wickets right throughout the game. This has left some big question marks over the leadership skills of Joe Root, the answers to which he must find soon.
Our prediction is of yet another New Zealand win. Their experience and past performance in home test matches have been immaculate and it won’t be easy for England to break that trend. There are some injury concerns in New Zealand camp and England would like to make the most of it in this cricket game. However, one would back New Zealand regardless considering their formidable record overs the years.
Toss prediction? – Our prediction is that the team winning the toss would like to bat first. This pitch will have something for the bowlers but batting last is proving to be difficult for all the teams around the world.
