Cricket Match Preview:
Test matches return for Australia. When they walk on to the field tomorrow, they will be playing their first cricket test matches since all hell broke loose following the ball-tampering incident in South Africa. That infamous incident left two of their most important players, Steve Smith and David Warner, along with Cameron Bancroft banned from International cricket.
But as it happens in life, the dust has begun to settle and Australia have moved on from the incident. Every travesty brings opportunity for the next generation, and so has this incident for the next group of Australian players. Australian skipper has already named the eleven for the first cricket game and as many as three players are going to debut.
Pakistan have also not been unfamiliar to controversies. Over the years, they have had their share of bans as well. No other cricket team has seen so much and still be a powerful force in the world of cricket. In Pakistan, Australia might have an unlikely sympathizer. However, when cricket begins, Pakistan will begin as strong favourites not only because of the inexperience in the opposition but also because of their fine track record in UAE.
Australia, with all the new faces, would look at their some of the senior men like Usman Khawaja, Mitch Marsh and Shaun Marsh to hold the batting together. Aaron Finch has been an ODI regular for a long time now, but he is getting his first opportunity to open the innings in place of David Warner. Youngster Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head are going to be two other debutants in charge of the middle order.
Clearly, Pakistan will fancy their chances against such an inexperienced lineup. Their spinners, led by Yasir Shah and comeback man Mohammed Hafeez, will be watching the Australian line-up with glee. Shahdab Khan will miss out on this cricket game due to his groin injury, while Mohammed Aamir has been dropped after a string of poor performances in the Asia Cup as well as over a period of time.
It is going to be a mammoth challenge for a young Australian side as even their fully experienced side did not fare well against Pakistan in this part of the world back in 2014 series. A lot has changed since then. Pakistan’s mainstays Younis Khan and Misbah Ul Haq have bid goodbye to international cricket whereas Australians are not the same as well.
Cricket Match Information:
Pakistan and Australia are going to take on each other in what is going to be an interesting cricket series. This marks the return of Test cricket for Australia since the ball-tampering saga in South Africa. It is going to be a two-test match series followed by three T20 Internationals.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Pakistan have dropped their pace spearhead, Mohammad Aamir, for both the tests and Shahdab Khan is injured. This presents the opportunity to other bowlers in the squad to make it to the eleven. Our prediction is that Mir Hamza might play alongside Mohammad Abbas as the quick bowler.
Here is our prediction of Pakistan’s playing XI:
- Azhar Ali
- Haris Sohail
- Asad Shafiq
- Sarfraz Ahmed
- Usman Salahuddin
- Mohammad Hafeez
- Yasir Shah
- Mohammad Abbas
- Mir Hamza
- Faheem Ashraf
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Australia have already named their playing eleven for the first test. Our prediction is to expect the same eleven barring any overnight injury to any player.
Here is our prediction of Australia’s playing XI:
- Aaron Finch
- Usman Khawaja
- Mitch Marsh
- Shaun Marsh
- Travis Head
- Marnus Labuschagne
- Tim Paine
- Mitch Starc
- Nathan Lyon
- Peter Siddle
- Jon Holland
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Usman Khwaja has had a fair run at Test cricket without really making the position his own. The prime reason behind that has been his ability against spin. Our prediction is that at the top of the order, he might just provide the stability Australia need right now.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
Dubai pitch has provided a good opportunity to both bowlers as well as the batsmen to excel. Scores in Asia were not very high and the surface might have become even drier since then. Our prediction is to expect a good score in the first inning followed by low scores in the second innings of the test match.
Pakistan will begin this game of cricket as strong favourites. Our prediction is to expect them to win this game of cricket as they have been a real dominant force in UAE.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Azhar Ali (PAK) – 50+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
Yasir Shah (PAK) – 5 or more wickets
Most Sixes (Prediction):
Aaron Finch (AUS)
Pakistan – 1.95
Australia – 2.95
