Cricket Match Preview:
Pakistan made a strong comeback in the second cricket game of the series against New Zealand. After New Zealand posted a mediocre total of 209 runs on batting first, Pakistan chased down the total in just 40.3 overs by 6 wickets. With this win, Pakistan broke the streak of 11 consecutive losses against New Zealand.
New Zealand were hoping to repeat their performance from the first cricket ODI, where they managed to put an above par total and then restricted Pakistan from scoring freely. However, in the second ODI, Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled a fantastic spell and kept picking on wickets in regular interval. Only Ross Taylor managed to hang around till the end but even he failed to score freely and New Zealand could only muster 209.
Pakistan would have been extremely happy with this performance as everything clicked for them in this game. Their bowlers bowled terrific line and lengths and their spinners just did not allow any boundary balls. Only one boundary was hit off their spinners and even their pacers out bowled New Zealand bowlers in this game of cricket.
New Zealand have a golden opportunity of winning the series against Pakistan in UAE. Not many sides have managed to come to these shores and beat Pakistan. Pakistan, on the other hand, would be desperate to hold on to their good record in UAE. Post Asia Cup debacle, they have been pretty dominant and ruthless against all opponents. Keeping World Cup 2019 in mind, the importance of this series is huge.
New Zealand will have to get more out of their openers if they have to win in the final cricket ODI. They have lost early wickets in both their games and only Ross Taylor has managed to score runs in both games. Skipper Kane Williamson will have to perform with the bat to give New Zealand a chance.
Cricket Match Information:
Pakistan and New Zealand will take on each other in the decider of the three-match cricket ODI series. Both New Zealand and Pakistan have won one cricket game each. The winner of the third game will be the winner of the series.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Pakistan bowled brilliantly in the second cricket ODI. They would like to continue with the same eleven as the last game. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven as the last cricket game.
Here is our prediction of Pakistan’s playing XI:
- Mohammad Hafeez
- Fakhar Zaman
- Babar Azam
- Shoaib Malik
- Sarfraz Ahmed
- Imad Wasim
- Hasan Ali
- Shaheen Afridi
- Shahdab Khan
- Faheem Ashraf
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
New Zealand were buoyed by the comeback of Tom Latham and Trent Boult in their lineup in the first cricket game. However, in the second ODI, they failed to click together. Our prediction is Glen Philips might make a comeback to the playing eleven due to the failure of Worker in two games of cricket.
Here is our prediction of New Zealand’s playing XI:
- Glenn Philips
- Colin Munro
- Kane Williamson
- Tom Latham
- Ross Taylor
- Colin De Grandhomme
- HM Nichols
- Lockie Ferguson
- Ish Sodhi
- Tim Southee
- Trent Boult
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Kane Williamson will have to score runs if New Zealand want to win the series in UAE. He has been subdued so far in both cricket games. If he can fire along with Tom Latham in the final ODI, New Zealand will be well paced to win the series.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
Dubai pitches have been good for batting in recent times. The last cricket ODI played here was the Asia Cup final, which India managed to win by beating Bangladesh on the last ball of the match. It was an exciting game where even 222 proved to be almost enough for Bangladesh. Our prediction is that 250 will prove to be a match winning score. Conditions are expected to be dry.
Pakistan will begin the decider as a favourite. The manner in which they won the second cricket ODI would have given them immense confidence.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Kane Williamson (NZ) – 50+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
Shahdab Khan (PAK) – 2 or more wickets
Most Sixes (Prediction):
Fakhar Zaman (PAK)
Pakistan – 1.54
New Zealand – 2.30
