Cricket Match Preview:
In the end, it all came down to the death bowling quality of both teams in the first T20 cricket game between New Zealand and Pakistan. New Zealand were well on their way to win the game when Colin Munro was in full form in his knock of 58 runs off just 42 deliveries. But in the end, they fell short by mere 2 runs as Pakistan continued their winning run in T20 International cricket games.
New Zealand, coming from a hibernation, gave a good account of themselves especially considering how Australia fared on these shores recently. For starters, they dismissed Babar Azam cheaply, which is a rare feat these days for any team. They had Pakistan struggling at just 61 for the loss of 2 wickets after 10. But a typical Imad Wasim finish in the last two deliveries cost visitors 10 runs as he hit six off the last ball. Pakistan ended up with 148 runs on the board, which is what they normally aim in these parts of the world.
Another thing that New Zealand did well was to play the spin of Imad Wasim well but despite winning these battles, they ended up losing the game. This mainly happened due to the lack of support to Colin Munro’s knock as skippers Kane Williamson and Colin de Grandhomme struggled to get going. Ross Taylor tried his best but could not hit boundaries when needed against the quality bowling of Shaheen Afridi.
Despite the struggle, Pakistan would be most pleased with this win as they know they can now win even without significant contributions from their regular performers. New Zealand are expected to be tougher opposition than Australia as they are a very well-prepared side and you would not expect the same mistakes from them in every game.
Cricket Match Information:
Pakistan and New Zealand will clash with each other in the second T20 International cricket game at Dubai. After winning the first T20 game by 2 runs, Pakistan have taken the lead of 1-0 in a three-match cricket series. If Pakistan wins the second T20 game as well, they will win their 11th consecutive T20 series.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Pakistan played the same lineup that won them the series against Australia in the first T20 international cricket game. Our prediction is that they might go with Fakhar Zaman in this game instead of Sahibzada Farhan.
Here is our prediction of Pakistan’s playing XI:
- Mohammad Hafeez
- Fakhar Zaman
- Babar Azam
- Shoaib Malik
- Sarfraz Ahmed
- Asif Ali
- Faheem Ashraf
- Imad Wasim
- Shaheen Afridi
- Shahdab Khan
- Hasan Ali
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
New Zealand were very good in the first cricket game, where they fell short by just 2 runs from winning the game. Our prediction is that they will go with the continuity and would stick with the same lineup for the second T20 game as well.
Here is our prediction of New Zealand’s playing XI:
- Glenn Philips
- Colin Munro
- Kane Williamson
- TL Seifert
- Ross Taylor
- Colin De Grandhomme
- Corey Anderson
- Tim Southee
- Ish Sodhi
- Adam Milne
- Aizaz Patel
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Kane Williamson had a failure in the first T20 cricket game. However, you would not expect him to fail in two games in a row. Hence, our prediction is to expect a good performance from New Zealand skipper in the second T20 cricket game.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
Pitch in Dubai will remain the same as they were against Australia. Pakistan have been winning all their games by batting first and scoring around 150. That trend is expected to continue. However, it would be interesting to see how things pan out if New Zealand bat first and put scoreboard pressure on Pakistan. Conditions are expected to be dry.
Pakistan will begin this cricket game as favourites yet again. But our prediction is of a New Zealand win in the second T20 International cricket game. They are a very professional T20 side and are normally very well-prepared cricketing side for all conditions. If they can just win the toss and choose to bat first, they might just give us an interesting result.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Kane Williamson (NZ) – 50+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
Shahdab Khan (PAK) – 2 or more wickets
Most Sixes (Prediction):
Colin Munro (NZ)
Pakistan – 1.58
New Zealand – 2.40
