Perth Scorchers are being led by Mitch Marsh in this season of Big Bash League. They had their worst season of all-time last year when they finished at the eighth spot.
Despite taking into account their worst season of all time, they remain the most successful team of the league. They have been three-time winners of the tournament, two-time runners-up and two-time semifinalists. They have, however, once again began poorly as they lost their opening game of cricket quite comfortably against Sydney Sixers.
Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played the last cricket game.
Here is our prediction of Perth Scorchers’ playing XI:
- Mitch Marsh
- Liam Livingstone
- Cameron Bancroft
- Ashton Turner
- Jhye Richardson
- Chris Jordan
- Ashton Agar
- M Kelly
- Fawad Ahmed
- C Green
- Matthew Kelly
The defending champions of this season, Melbourne Renegades, will play their second cricket game against Perth Scorchers. They are going to be led by Aaron Finch this year as well. Finch led his side to the title win last year.
Renegades have a new coach this season in Michael Klinger who has replaced Andrew McDonald. They will have the services of Shaun Marsh this season which is looking in very good touch. Harry Gurney, the English pacer, is likely to play a crucial role in this season as well.
Despite the loss in the previous game, our prediction is of the same playing eleven.

Expert Prediction: PS vs MR
The ninth season of the Big Bash League is up and running. The most successful BBL side in the history, Perth Scorchers, will be taking on the defending champions of last year, Melbourne Renegades, in their next cricket game.
In this season of the Big Bash League, the tournament will be played over a period of 42 days and a total of five teams will have the chance to qualify for the finals, instead of the usual four teams.
As per the new format, the teams finishing in the top two will be rewarded for their consistency, unlike in previous seasons. While the winner of the ‘qualifier’ played between the top two teams will reach the final straightaway, the loser will play the ‘challenger’ against the winner of the ‘knockout’ which is going to be played between the side that finished third and winner of the ‘eliminator’.
The Eliminator is a newly introduced knockout feature, which will be played between the teams finishing at number fourth and fifth on the points table. Hence, out of the eight teams, five teams will have a chance to play the final and win the tournament.
In the last five cricket games between the two sides, Perth Scorchers have been the winner of three occasions. Melbourne Renegades have been the winner of those encounters on the last two occasions.
Our prediction is of a win for Melbourne Renegades. Perth Scorchers looked out of sorts in their first game and it is going to take something special from them to turn it around so quickly.
Toss prediction? – The team winning the toss will look to bowl first as the T20 game is hugely a chase-friendly format. Hence, irrespective of the conditions, our prediction is that the team winning the toss would like to bowl first.
