Cricket Match Preview:
Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) will clash in their second game of cricket of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). Both teams lost their respective first cricket games against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) respectively and would be looking to win their first game of the season.
RCB’s date was set with CSK in the first game of the tournament this year but it proved to be a damp squib. Part of the reason was the pitch used in the first cricket game, but what also came under scanner was the game awareness of RCB’s batsmen, who perished one after another while aiming too big a score for that kind of pitch.
MI’s problems were different in their last game. Their bowling looked thin and overly reliant on Jasprit Bumrah. Two of their pacers, Lasith Malinga and Adam Milne, were out injured and while the former is expected to join the team at some stage, Milne is out of the tournament. Even Bumrah, much to the pain of Indian viewers, injured himself during the last stages of MI’s bowling innings. It remains to be seen if he will be available for the next cricket game.
RCB have made various changes to their squad, but if they will not execute their game as per the need, then all the changes will once again prove to be futile. All of their senior men including Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers got out to extremely poor strokes, which led to RCB getting bowled out for just 70 runs. If RCB could have reached 120, it would have been difficult for even CSK to chase down the total.
It is going to be an interesting clash between two powerhouses of the IPL. In the last five cricket games between the two sides, MI have won four of those cricket games, whereas RCB won the latest encounter between the two sides in last year’s IPL. RCB have more variety in their bowling lineup but they will need their batsmen to step up. MI, on the other hand, will need to rely on their batsmen to win them the cricket game as their bowling looked very thin.
Cricket Match Information:
RCB and MI will meet in their first clash of the year at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Both teams lost their first cricket game of this year’s IPL quite heavily and would like to get to a winning habit sooner than later.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
RCB will be led by Virat Kohli like in previous seasons. Our prediction is of the same playing eleven that played the last cricket game against CSK.
Here is our prediction of RCB’s playing XI:
- Virat Kohli
- Parthiv Patel
- AB de Villiers
- Shimron Hetmyer
- Moeen Ali
- Yuzvendra Chahal
- Shivam Dube
- Umesh Yadav
- Mohammad Siraj
- NA Saini
- Colin de Grandhomme
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
MI will be led by Rohit Sharma this year. He has led Mumbai towards victory on three occasions. Our prediction is of some changes to their lineup compared to the last cricket game against DC.
Here is our prediction of MI’s playing XI:
- Rohit Sharma
- Quinton de Kock
- Suryakumar Yadav
- Hardik Pandya
- Krunal Pandya
- Keiron Pollard
- Yuvraj SIngh
- Jasprit Bumrah

- Mitchell McLenaghan
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Quinton de Kock has been in great form in recent times for South Africa. He looked good in the first cricket game. Our prediction is of a good performance from him in this game of cricket.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
The last international cricket ODI cricket played here was between India and Australia recently. That game saw India lose the cricket game despite scoring 190 runs. The pitch in Bengaluru has become a lot better for batting once again hence, our prediction is of a score of around 200 this time around. Conditions are expected to be dry.
RCB will begin this game of cricket as slight favourites. They have a better side right now compared to MI. Hence, our prediction is of RCB’s victory.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Quinton de Kock (MI) – 50+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
NA Saini (RCB) – 2 or more wickets
Most Sixes (Prediction):
Quinton de Kock (MI)
Royal Challengers Bangalore – 1.83
Mumbai Indians – 1.83
