Cricket Match Preview:
There has been a big controversy regarding the comments captured on stump mic made by Pakistan’s skipper and wicketkeeper, Sarfraz Ahmed. Comments were made when South African all-rounder, Andile Phehlukwayo, was batting and taking South Africa towards the target set by Pakistan. As of now, Sarfraz Ahmed has apologized for the statements on Twitter and no official complaint has been lodged by the South African cricket team.
Coming to the cricket, South Africa made a good comeback in the cricket series by defeating Pakistan. In the second cricket ODI against Pakistan, South Africa had to fight hard to win the game of cricket as we saw the game moving from one direction to another. While at one stage it looked like South Africa would wrap Pakistan to an under 150 total, in the second innings, it looked like Pakistan would be able to defeat South Africa.
In the first innings of the cricket game, South Africa were absolutely on the roll. They had Pakistan 8 down for 112 runs after 32 overs. It looked like we will have an early end to the cricket game but Hasan Ali had some other ideas as he hit a swashbuckling 59 off just 45 deliveries with 3 sixes and 5 boundaries. His innings propelled Pakistan’s innings to a score of 202, which gave them something to bowl at. This was a huge lapse on the part of South Africa as this could prove to be dangerous in the cricket World Cup.
Pakistan will be under slight pressure due to what transpired within the cricket game and post that. But Pakistan have been known to bounce back from such situations before and with cricket World Cup being so close, they would like to get back to winning games of cricket.
Cricket Match Information:
Teams would like to wrap up the cricket series at Johannesburg. There was a controversy related to the comments made by Pakistan’s skipper Sarfraz Ahmed during the second cricket game. Teams would like to leave that behind. So far, Pakistan have been very good with the ball in the cricket series and if they can get the batting right, there is no doubt that they can put South Africa under immense pressure. South Africa, on the other hand, would like to avoid falling behind in the series.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
South Africa won their last ODI cricket series against Australia in Australia. But they lost the first cricket game played against Pakistan in this series before bouncing back in the second cricket ODI. Our prediction is there might be a couple of changes in their playing eleven as we might see Quinton de Kock and Dale Steyn return to the lineup after they were rested for the first two cricket ODIs. They have also decided to drop Paterson, Henrich Klassen and Olivier from the squad.
Here is our prediction of South Africa’s playing XI:
- RR Hendricks
- HE van der Dussen
- Faf du Plessis
- Hashim Amla
- Quinton de Kock
- David Miller
- Dale Steyn
- Kagiso Rabada
- Duanne Pretorius
- Andile Phehlukwayo
- Tabrez Shamsi
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Pakistan played a drawn series against New Zealand at home. After losing the test series, they have begun well in the ODI cricket series. Our prediction is Imad Wasim may make a comeback after the failure of Hussain Talat, who replaced Imad in the previous game of cricket.
Here is our prediction of Pakistan’s playing XI:
- Fakhar Zaman
- Babar Azam
- Faheem Ashraf
- Sarfraz Ahmed
- Shoaib Malik
- Imad Wasim
- Shahdab Khan
- Shaheen Afridi
- Hasan Ali
- Mohammed Hafeez
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Faf du Plessis has had a relatively quiet ODI cricket series compared to his exploits in the cricket test series. Being the skipper of South Africa, he would like to put some runs on the board. Hence, our prediction is of a good performance from him in this game of cricket.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
The last two international cricket games played here produced two low-scoring games. Those cricket games were against India and Sri Lanka, respectively. In the game of cricket against India, South Africa emerged victorious despite India scoring 289 runs while batting first. Conditions are expected to be dry.
South Africa will begin this game of cricket as our favourites. Their victory, after being on the verge of a loss in the last cricket game, will give them a lot of confidence going ahead in the cricket series. Hence, our prediction is of a South African win.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Faf du Plessis (SA) – 50+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
