Cricket Match Preview:
South Africa has once again proved to be a tough place to play cricket for an Asian side. Pakistan, despite having the form and resources, could not manage to win the series yet again in South Africa. They would have been especially disappointed with the performance of their batsmen, who showed a glimpse of their ability in various stages without making a substantial score in any of the two test matches.
Pakistan’s coach Mickey Arthur spoke about how the pitches have been disappointing so far in the cricket series and how they are unfit for test cricket. Unfortunately, he spoke about it on the day Faf du Plessis scored a wonderful century. The argument simply does not hold true when Pakistan’s own batsmen like Asad Shafiq and Shan Masood showed ample heart in the second innings of the test match.
South Africa will be without their skipper in this game of cricket as he was found guilty of slow over rates and has been banned for the next cricket game. In his absence, it is yet to be decided who will captain the team. They have the choices though in the form of Hashim Amla, Aiden Markram and Dean Elgar.
Pakistan’s skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was disappointed with the performance of his bowlers as he felt they could have bowled at a much higher pace than they did eventually on an eventful pitch. Mohammad Abbas, who came with a huge reputation have not done justice to his talent as yet. Only Mohammad Aamir has managed to impress with his performances in both test matches. This would have come as a relief to Pakistan, who were beginning to get worried about the pace bowler.
Cricket Match Information:
South Africa have won the test cricket series against Pakistan and would like to clean sweep the series. They won the first two cricket test matches played at Cape Town and Centurion and would like to repeat the feat at Johannesburg. Pakistan, on the other hand, would like to show that they are better than what they have shown so far on the tour.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
South Africa won both the cricket test matches. Our prediction is they will continue with the same playing eleven with the exception of Faf du Plessis, who played in their last cricket game.
Here is our prediction of South Africa’s playing XI:
- Dean Elgar
- Aiden Markram
- Keegen Petersen
- Hashim Amla
- Quinton de Kock
- T Bavuma
- Duanne Olivier
- Kagiso Rabada
- Kesav Maharaj
- Dale Steyn
- TB de Bruyn
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Pakistan lost the test series against New Zealand at home. They have now lost the cricket series against South Africa as well. They went with an unchanged lineup in the previous cricket game, however, it would be a massive surprise if we do not see any change again. Our prediction is of the inclusion of Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Rizwan in this game of cricket.
Here is our prediction of Pakistan’s playing XI:
- Mohammad Rizwan
- Azhar Ali
- Babar Azam
- Faheem Ashraf
- Sarfraz Ahmed
- Asad Shafiq
- Mohammad Aamir
- Yasir Shah
- Shaheen Afridi
- Mohammad Abbas
Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Dale Steyn showed signs of returning to his absolute best in the last test cricket match. Now that he is injury-free and continuously playing cricket, he is expected to do even better. Our prediction is of another brilliant performance from Steyn in this game of cricket.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
It will be the first test match on this venue since the Australia versus South Africa cricket series played last year. South Africa absolutely hammered Australia in that game of cricket on the back of sandpaper incident. It was the first game for Tim Paine as an Australian skipper. South Africa won that game of cricket by a massive margin of 492 runs. Conditions are expected to be dry in this game of cricket.
South Africa will begin this game of cricket as our favourites. They know the conditions well and it will be difficult for Pakistani to bounce back from the previous loss. Our prediction is of a South African win in the second cricket test match.
Top Batsman (Prediction):
Aiden Markram (SA) – 100+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
Dale Steyn (SA) – 4 or more wickets
Most Sixes (Prediction):
Quinton de Kock (SA)
South Africa – 1.30
Draw – 8.50
