Cricket Match Preview:

Things change quickly in Sri Lankan cricket. Not too long ago, they had taken on South Africa in South Africa under a completely different leadership. Now that they have a new captain in Dimuth Karunaratne, who had not even played an ODI cricket game since 2015 until the one against Scotland recently. South African team will look to regroup before they take on England in the World Cup opening cricket game.

When Sri Lanka last played South Africa, they began the tour on a high as they become the first ever Asian side to win the test series in South Africa. However, post that, they lost seven cricket games on the trot and had a disappointing tour. They did a fine job in their first cricket game when they nearly defended their low score of 134 runs against a strong South African batting line up, but the second cricket game returned to normalcy as Sri Lanka first conceded 180 runs while fielding and then failed to chase down the total by 16 runs.

South African players were part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and had a fairly successful run, with skipper Faf du Plessis being successful for eventual runners-up Chennai Super Kings, whereas South African opener Quinton de Kock was part of the winners of IPL 2019, Mumbai Indians. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada was the second highest wicket-taker in the competition for Delhi Capital, whereas Imran Tahir was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Now they will have to quickly regroup and play as a team as there is not much time left before the opening game of cricket against England in the World Cup.

From Sri Lanka, Lasith Malinga was part of Mumbai Indians and his legend grew bigger as he showed he still had enough cricket in him. The new skipper Karunaratne will be looking at him and at all-rounder Angelo Matthews for help to get Sri Lanka back on track and have a successful run at the World Cup.

Cricket Match Information:

South Africa will take on Sri Lanka in a one-off ODI cricket game before the World Cup. These two teams met recently in South Africa, where after winning the Test series, Sri Lanka failed to win a single cricket game. South African players will be playing together after a gap of a couple of months as most of them were involved in the IPL.

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:

Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:

The last international T20 cricket match played here was between Australia and England. England won that cricket game by defending the total of 342 runs. Our prediction is of high first innings score in this cricket game especially if South Africa bat first. Conditions are expected to be dry.

Our Prediction:

South Africa will begin this game of cricket as favourites. They had been in great form in the home series against Pakistan and now Sri Lanka in limited overs format. Hence, our prediction is of South Africa’s victory in the next cricket game.
