Cricket Match Preview:
Sri Lanka have been beaten fair and square in this series. They have been outplayed in their own conditions and they have absolutely no one to blame to except themselves. The pitch made for the second cricket Test match was tailor-made for their spinners and batsmen to feast on, but this tactic completely backfired as England won the test convincingly by 57 runs. Now, the only solace for Sri Lanka will be to not get clean swept by the visiting side.
England, led by Joe Root, will be mighty pleased by this win as they had not won a test match, let alone a series in Asian conditions, for some time now. Even though this Sri Lankan side has been in disarray for some time now, they are still a force to reckon with at home. This was on display earlier this year when Sri Lanka defeated South Africa easily in the test series. Hence, this achievement by England is no mean feat.
When England won the toss once again and decided to bat first on a dicey pitch, they knew that even if they will post even a competitive total in the first innings, it will go a long way in helping them to win the test cricket match. That is what they achieved as well, thanks to another significant lower-order contribution. This helped them reach a total of 290 and that was going to be enough on a turning pitch.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, had to get a lead of at least a 100 if they were to win the test match but they could not string together a partnership and could only muster the lead of 46 runs. The last nail was the wonderful hundred by Joe Root that enabled England to set a steep target for Sri Lanka, which they eventually failed to overcome.
The only good news for Sri Lanka has been the form of Angelo Matthews, who looked in fine form in second innings. Apart from him, neither the top order runs are coming for Sri Lanka nor their spinners have managed to be as successful as England’s. England, meanwhile, will be pleased that despite no contribution from their senior most player James Anderson, they managed to pick all 20 wickets.
Cricket Match Information:
England and Sri Lanka will take on each other in the third and final test match of the series. England have already won the test series by winning the first two cricket test matches. If they can win this test match, they will achieve the rare feat of winning all the three test matches against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
England have gone with the three spinners in their lineup in both the test matches so far. Our prediction is they will go with the same eleven as in the second cricket test match as well.
Here is our prediction of England’s playing XI:
- Keaton Jennings
- Rory Burns
- Joe Root
- Jos Butler
- Ben Stokes
- Ben Foakes
- Moeen Ali
- Sam Curran
- Adil Rashid

- Jack Leach
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
Sri Lanka have had another disappointing cricket series. Their batsmen have looked out of form and clueless against English spinners. Our prediction is of a few changes in their playing eleven.

Cricket Statistics and Prediction
Keaton Jennings made a significant contribution with his catching in the second cricket test match. Our prediction is it is time for a hundred from Jennings bat in the third cricket test match.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
Pitch is expected to be a rank-turner once again as it is the only way Sri Lanka can win the test match at the moment. Conditions are expected to be dry.
England will begin the game as massive favourites. They have a golden opportunity to win the cricket series by a margin of 3-0 in overseas conditions. Sadly, Sri Lanka do not look like stopping this English juggernaut and hence, our prediction is of England victory yet again.

Keaton Jennings (ENG) – 50+ runs
Top Bowler (Prediction):
