Cricket Match Preview:

The team that gave everybody their second chance in this tournament is on the verge of elimination. Sri Lanka’s unexpected victory over England gave a new lease of life to the likes of Pakistan and Bangladesh. But with their own loss against South Africa, they have now run out of their own breathing space. Sri Lanka are now left with just two cricket games and if they have to remain in contention, they will have to win both of those games.

West Indies, on the other hand, have now missed the bus and will be playing for their pride in their remaining two cricket games. It all began with so much promise for the men in maroon. They won their first cricket game of the World Cup against Pakistan by seven wickets after dismissing them for just over 100 runs. But since then, due to some brain fade cricket, injuries and illogical tactics, they find themselves at the ninth spot.

In the last five cricket games between the sides, Sri Lanka have won four cricket games. They would like to stretch that to five games before they meet India in their final group game. Sri Lanka were not fancied by any cricket pundit before the tournament began. They had lost far too many cricket games in the last four years to be considered as some sort of favourites. But they have found some bright spots in the tournament so far such as Kusal Perera’s batting, Lasith Malinga’s bowling and Dimuth Karunaratne’s captaincy.

West Indies also know that they are a far better side than they have shown in the tournament. In Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran, they have three fine batting talents that can hold their batting lineup for many years to come. On the bowling front, they have Oshane Thomas and charismatic Sheldon Cottrell who can support skipper Jason Holder for the next few years. Now it will be all about whether they can manage these players and if they can stay fit.

Cricket Match Information:

Sri Lanka will take on West Indies in their penultimate group game of the World Cup 2019. So far, Sri Lanka have played seven cricket games and won two games, whereas West Indies have played seven games as well and won just one game of cricket. Currently on the points table, Sri Lanka are on the seventh spot, whereas West Indies are down at the ninth spot.

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:

Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:

The last international ODI cricket played here was between Sri Lanka and South Africa recently. South Africa won that cricket game easily by nine wickets. Our prediction is of the score of around 275 in this cricket game. Conditions are expected to be good for cricket.

Our Prediction:

Sri Lanka will begin this game of cricket as favourites. They need to win this game of cricket to stay alive and they have also been dominant against West Indies in the last five cricket games. Hence, our prediction is of a Sri Lankan win.
