Cricket Match Preview:

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots finally ended their losing streak at home after a fine win over St Lucia Zouks last night. Right from the start of the game, after putting Zouks to bat first, Patriots landed consistent blows to their batting lineup. The new addition to the playing eleven, Akeem Jordan, picked up a four-wicket haul and helped Patriots restrict Zouks to a below-par total of 138 runs. In the reply led by Evin Lewis’ knock of 65 runs, Patriots were always ahead in the game and ended up winning it by six wickets with more than five overs remaining.

Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), on the other hand, are coming off a record-breaking game against Jamaica Tallawahs. They ended up on the right side of the result and are still unbeaten after four games of cricket. After being sent to bat first, TKR caused complete mayhem at Jamaica. Led by Lendl Simmons at top and Colin Munro in the middle order, TKR posted a total of 267 runs at the end of 20 overs.

While Simmons has been the leading scorer for TKR so far in the tournament, Munro played his first game and immediately made an impact. Munro has been one of the best players ever for TKR in this tournament and his knock of 96 off just 50 balls once again established that fact. In their defence of a huge score, TKR bowlers travelled as well but the magnitude of the score ensured that Tallawahs stayed below the asking rate.

Injuries and no objection certificate from the national boards have been the talking points of this year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL). TKR will not have the services of Mohammad Hasnain anymore as Pakistan has called him back. This will be a big blow to TKR as the quick bowlers were creating a difference through his quick spells.

Patriots would have been pleased with the success of the changes that they brought in the last game. Jordan, Hafeez and Emrit all played a huge role in their win in the last game. Courtesy of their win in the last cricket game, Patriots are right amongst the top four teams and are currently on the third spot. But they have also played the most number of games so far and they must ensure that they have at least six wins to be sure of a playoff spot.

Cricket Match Information:

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will take on Trinbago Knight Riders in their seventh cricket game of 2019 edition of CPL. So far, Patriots have played six cricket games and won just two games, whereas TKR have played four games and won all four games. Each team is supposed to play ten cricket games and the top four teams will qualify for the playoffs.
