Cricket Match Preview:
Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) are undergoing their worst Indian Premier League (IPL) season since they have become the part of IPL. The franchise was known to punch above their weight, but this year it all seems to be going down after a bright start. Their opponent Chennai Super Kings (CSK), on the other hand, are on the verge of another playoff spot and looking like a well-oiled machine.
SRH’s success in this tournament was mainly due to the opening pair of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. In the games of cricket, in which these two have fired, they have won easily but the problem has been when either or both have failed. It almost seems like SRH are playing with no middle order. Such has been the failure of stars like Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan that they have been dropped from the side at the half way stage in the tournament.
CSK, on the other hand, had another satisfying win against KKR. On a flat pitch, CSK’s bowler contained KKR’s hard hitting men and restricted them to a total of 160 runs. In reply, they found a new hero in Suresh Raina who scored his first fifty of the tournament and took CSK home in the last over. CSK have now won 7 cricket games out of 8 games played and are one win away from sealing the playoff spot.
SRH bowlers have once again been good in the tournament but they desperately need Kane Williamson to be back among runs in the middle order. If he can get back among runs, SRH will feel less pressure in the middle order and David Warner and Jonny Bairstow will be able to score freely. SRH have tried a few options in the middle order but ideally, they would want the likes of Manish Pandey to start performing.
This cricket game will be played in the SRH home ground and they would like to make it difficult for CSK to win the game here.
