Cricket Match Preview:
The famous spirit of West Indies cricket was shown yet again in the second cricket ODI. They were down and out at one stage but that spirit kept them alive and finally, they registered their first victory against England in ODI cricket since 2014. That was a big win for a number 9 side on the ICC rankings against the number 1 team in the world.
Unlike the first cricket ODI, at no stage West Indies looked like running away from England after being sent out to bat first. Chris Gayle looked good once again and hit a half-century but his innings was cut short by Adeel Rashid. Shai Hope also looked good once again but threw away a good start to an ill-placed pull shot off Ben Stokes.
West Indies needed somebody to step up to at least put up a competitive total against a strong England side. They found Shimron Hetmyer who hit his fourth ton of the career at the age of 22. He helped West Indies to a score of 289 runs. It was not massive, especially not against England, but it gave something to bowl at.
Unlike the first ODI, England were rocked early in their innings by Sheldon Cottrell. England were reduced to 60 for 3 after 13 overs. However, buoyed by the half-centuries from skipper Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes, England looked set to chase down the total easily. But Cottrell came back to dismiss Eoin Morgan and England suddenly lost a few quick wickets. In the end, due to the inspiring show from Cottrell and skipper Jason Holder, England were bowled out for 26 runs short of West Indies’ total.
Despite West Indies’ victory, England will still back themselves to win the cricket series, but West Indies have shown that they are no pushovers. There is enough character and depth in this team to trouble lots of teams in the world.
Cricket Match Information:
West Indies will take on England in the third cricket ODI of the five-match ODI series. The series is at 1-1 right now with both teams winning a game each. While England won the first cricket ODI easily by chasing the mammoth total of 360 runs with ease, West Indies came back strongly to win the second cricket ODI.
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
West Indies have played admirably in this cricket series against England. They had poor last few months against India and Bangladesh in Asian condition. With a much-needed win in the last cricket gam,e our prediction is of the same playing eleven from them in the third cricket ODI.
Here is our prediction of West Indies’ playing XI:
- JD Campbell
- Chris Gayle
- Shai Hope
- Shimron Hetmyer
- Darren Bravo
- Sheldon Cottrell
- Ashley Nurse
- Oshane Thomas
- Devendra Bishoo
- Carlos Brathwaite
- Jason Holder
Probable XI (Our Prediction):
England have one of the best, if not the best, ODI cricket team. Our prediction is they will play the same playing eleven that helped them win the cricket series in Sri Lanka and the first ODI here.
Here is our prediction of England’s playing XI:
- Jason Roy
- Johnny Bairstow
- Joe Root
- Eoin Morgan
- Ben Stokes
- Jos Butler
- Moeen Ali

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:
Johnny Bairstow has had a great record in recent times in ODI cricket format. His performances have been slightly below par in the test cricket series against West Indies. Our prediction is he is going to be our man to watch out for in this cricket game.
Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:
The last international ODI cricket game played here was between West Indies and Bangladesh back in 2014. West Indies defended their total of 247 runs by a huge margin of 177 runs. Our prediction is of a score of around 300 runs in this cricket game. Conditions are expected to be dry.
England will begin the game of cricket as favourites despite their loss in last cricket game. They are the number 1 cricket side of the format and are expected to provide a tough challenge to the hosts yet again. Our prediction is of England’s win in the next ODI cricket game.
