Cricket Match Preview:
West Indies lost the first T20 cricket game against England by 4 wickets. They were the strong favourites coming into this cricket series, but England performed brilliantly and kept their composure against the best side in the world. West Indies will now look to bounce back if they have to save the series.
It was the second loss for West Indies in the last 5 T20 cricket games between the two sides. One of those wins came in the WT20 final of 2016 when Carlos Brathwaite famously hit England all-rounder Ben Stokes for consecutive sixes to win the title. With the WT20 still almost a year away, there is not much context to these cricket games but if you are West Indies, every cricket game and every win count.
It will not be a hyperbole to say that West Indies have surprised England on this tour. First of all, they defeated England in a test series, which was a great feat. Then in the ODI cricket format, currently England’s best format, West Indies pushed them as far as they could being a number 9 side in the world. Now there lies a real chance for West Indies to show who is the boss of World Cricket’s shortest format.
Tom Curran continued his rich vein of form of Sydney Sixers in the first T20 cricket game. He picked up 4 wickets and rocked the West Indies’ batting line up. The big hitters of West Indies could not play a big knock and they could muster only 160 runs batting first. In reply, England got off to a flier via a brilliant knock of Johnny Bairstow and that innings kept them over asking rate all the time.
In the second T20 international, West Indies batsmen will have to play smartly and target their bowlers so that they can play to their potential.

They have already played 3-match Test series and 5-match ODI cricket series.
