Cricket Match Preview:

The battle will resume between West Indies and England once again with a side looking to seal the cricket series. West Indies made an inspirational comeback in the second cricket ODI as they won their first ODI against England since 2014. They were down and out at one stage in the second ODI but their never-say-die attitude kept them alive. That was a big win for a number 9 side on the ICC rankings against the number 1 team in the world.

West Indies needed somebody to step up in the second cricket ODI against a strong England side. They had lost the first cricket ODI against England despite scoring a mammoth 360 runs while batting first. They found Shimron Hetmyer, who hit his fourth ton of the career at the age of 22. He helped West Indies score 289 runs after being sent out to bat first. It was not massive, especially not against England, but it gave something to bowl at.

In the second cricket ODI, Chris Gayle looked good once again and hit a half-century but his innings was cut short by Adeel Rashid. Shai Hope also looked good once again but threw away a good start to an ill-placed pull shot off Ben Stokes. England’s bowling was good on a pitch that was slower than the first cricket ODI.

Unlike the first cricket ODI, where they just coasted towards their total of 360 runs, they were rocked early in their innings by Sheldon Cottrell. England were reduced to 60 for 3 after 13 overs. However, buoyed by the half-centuries from skippers Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes, England looked set to chase down the total easily. But Cottrell came back to dismiss Eoin Morgan and England suddenly lost a few quick wickets. In the end, due to the inspiring show from Cottrell and skipper Jason Holder, England were bowled out for 26 runs short of West Indies total.

Cricket Match Information:

West Indies will take on England in the fourth cricket ODI of the five-match ODI series. By the time this piece is being written, the series is at 1-1 right now with both teams winning a game each. While England won the first cricket ODI easily by chasing the mammoth total of 360 runs with ease, West Indies came back strongly to win the second cricket ODI.

West Indies

Probable XI (Our Prediction):

West Indies have played admirably in this cricket series against England. They had a poor last few months against India and Bangladesh in Asian condition. With a much-needed win in the last cricket game, our prediction is of the same playing eleven from them in the third cricket ODI.

Here is our prediction of West Indies’ playing XI:

  • JD Campbell
  • Chris Gayle
  • Shai Hope
  • Shimron Hetmyer
  • Darren Bravo
  • Sheldon Cottrell
  • Ashley Nurse
  • Oshane Thomas
  • Devendra Bishoo
  • Carlos Brathwaite
  • Jason Holder

Probable XI (Our Prediction):

England have one of the best, if not the best, ODI cricket team. Our prediction is they will play the same playing eleven that helped them win the cricket series in Sri Lanka and the first ODI here.

Here is our prediction of England’s playing XI:

  • Jason Roy
  • Johnny Bairstow
  • Joe Root
  • Eoin Morgan
  • Ben Stokes
  • Jos Butler
  • Moeen Ali
  • Chris Woakes
  • Liam Plunkett
  • Mark Wood
  • Adeel Rashid

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:

Adeel Rashid has had a great record in recent times in ODI cricket format. In a cricket series expected to be dominated by batsmen, our prediction is his leg spinners are going to be the difference between the two sides.

Cricket Match Conditions and Pitch:

The last international ODI cricket game played here was between West Indies and Bangladesh back in 2014. West Indies defended their total of 247 runs by a huge margin of 177 runs. Our prediction is of a score of around 300 runs in this cricket game. Conditions are expected to be dry.

Our Prediction:

England will begin the game of cricket as favourites despite their loss in their last cricket game. They are the number 1 cricket side of the format and are expected to be a lot more disciplined and tougher to beat. Our prediction is of England’s win in the next ODI cricket game.

Top Batsman (Prediction):

Jason Roy (ENG) – 50+ runs

Top Bowler (Prediction):

Adeel Rashid (ENG) – 2 or more wickets
