Cricket Match Preview:
After winning the first cricket game against West Indies, India registered their biggest win in any away game of test cricket. With that win, India’s skipper, Virat Kohli, became the joint-most successful captain of Indian cricket. He now has 27 wins under his belt, which is the same as India’s former skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. After achieving so many amazing feats after the first game, India now set their eyes on the second test match and will look to win the series.
India would have many reasons to feel pleased after the first test. First and most important of them all would be the form of Ajinkya Rahane, who scored his first test hundred in two years. Not too long ago, he was India’s best batsman in away conditions but he lost his form post that. Now with ICC World Test Championship introduced, India would like their solid middle order batsman to be in prime form.
The other pleasing aspect would have been the bowling performance of Ishant Sharma, who has gone from strength-to-strength in the last couple of years. He picked up eight wickets in the game and was the prime reason behind India’s lead in the first innings. Jasprit Bumrah once again showed why he is being hailed as one of, if not the best, all-format bowler in the world.
With the second test match starting in three days’ time, India might look to bring in Ravichandran Ashwin in the mix as Kohli has gone on record about managing the bowlers’ workload. Mayank Agarwal is likely to get another chance at the top after failing in the first test match. Cheteshwar Pujara had an off game as well and he would like to set that game aside and show his class in the second test match.
West Indies, on the other hand, find themselves in disarray yet again and they will have to find inspiration from somewhere. Their bowling was good in the first innings, but their batting failed in both innings. Too many batsmen are getting starts and throwing it away hence, it is imperative that one of them goes through and scores big. Otherwise, another loss in the home series beckons for them.

Cricket Statistics and Prediction:

The last international test match played here was between West Indies and Bangladesh in 2018. West Indies won that cricket game by 166 runs. Our prediction is of the score of 330 for 4 for India after day 1 of the second test match.
